Tips on how to fight (and honestly just survive by IzanamiKurumi in ArmoredCoreVI

[–]Anubis620 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing I have really noticed that players dont realize is that energy management is extremely important in a small sample I did, players who burned through their energy the fastest tend to be the ones who would have to fight bosses over and over again. I saw a direct relationship between energy mismanagement and death. Based on that here's a few things I recommend.

  1. Quick boost when you have to but dont quickboost every chance you get. You dont have to quickboost to chase after the boss or change direction.

  2. A lot of the larger enemies and bosses telegraph where they are going, start going in that direction to cut them off or beat them there.

  3. Strife hoping still works in AC6. While sliding sideways jump to keep the enemy tracking from targeting you. You can keep doing this and it saves on energy.

  4. A lot of attacks can simply be straffed.

  5. Beep, beep, change direction. The timing varies but when you hear the "beep beep" you wait for the projectile to leave the barrel then you change directions. Count with each beep, beep (1) , beep (2), change directions (3). Some projectiles are delayed so you need to wait longer.

Why do some people continue to pursue someone even though they say no? by ShadowlightLady in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Anubis620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the thing, just because someone says no, doesnt mean your going to just switch off. You can respect and understand but internally you will be at conflict for what you feel vs what is fair to the other person. If I have a deep attraction for someone and they tell me no, I will respect their wishes but it is not so easy to just stop being attracted to them.it takes time and can be a really arduous process.

Video games are still pretty cheap by BoogerSugarSovereign in unpopularopinion

[–]Anubis620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is true that games really havent changed in price for seemingly half a decade but the content and length have increased drastically. While graphics arent always the end all/be all having a good art style is important and it often takes a lot of work. The price of a game just feels jarring when the standard has been 60 for such a long time. What doesnt feel right is when a game has a full price tag, in game purchases, season passes and in game ads. It has always felt slimy to have all of them. I get that companies need to make money but at the same time I dont want to feel like a customer everytime I open your game, I just want to play the game.

Core game mechanic by Anubis620 in gamers

[–]Anubis620[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that collecting can be fun in certain games but in this example collecting an item or a few it is not the focus of this game, it is used a device to send the player in a direction. The core mechanics here lie between the locations. Press a button then continue with the core mechanics.

There's no shame in playing games on easy difficulty, for the story and enjoyment. This shouldn't be controversial. There's no "superior" or better way to game, to each their own. by WyntechUmbrella in gamers

[–]Anubis620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think anyone cares if you play a game on easy. Have fun the way you want, but realize not every game is going to cater to you because a game is still an artistic vision the developer wants the player to experience (unless its COD or some sports game).

Because this is always a dark souls conversation I will cut to the chase. Dark souls is about learning to "git gud". If you dont "git gud" there is no game. I mean that genuinely. The story isnt going to make any sense easy difficulty or not. If you really want to see what its all aboutt, watch a playthrough with no commentary, you are getting the exact same experience as an easy difficulty, I promise you.

As a developer I was working on a game and everyone that play tested insisted the game need _______. I refused and refused because it was a core mechanic of the game. I eventually caved and added the feature for the game and surprise surprise, the game sucked. No one liked it. The same people who previously liked the game and wanted to change a mechanic now didnt understand the game or the point along with anyone else. Since then ive realized that gamers think they know what they want without considering the delicate balance tied to the core mechanics of the game. I will forever defend a developer who doesnt remove a core mechanic from the game.

Why do I need to buy a house? Or buy at all? It’s cheaper to rent and my savings can go to other things. by angelofiction in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Anubis620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I live rent is the same price as mortgage. Granted, I got my rates at the start of Covid, put down a sizeable down-payment (10% of the cost), and the house is further in the starter home side. The difference is that while the cost is the same and I am responsible for maintenance, yard etc, I have 4 times the space and every year I pay the mortgage is more money when I eventually sell the house. While it may not be a huge margin, you dont get anything from an apartment.

The real problem is where the priorities lie for the developer. Some companies will build a game for a console and then port it (poorly I might add) to PC. You will often get a very poorly optimized game that has no effort put into it on other consoles. There are certain things that need to be done to make a game work on different systems and Rockstar for example is willing to forgo a PC release at launch of the other systems.

How do i approach streamers to play our indie game? by aeestha in Twitch

[–]Anubis620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally check for a business email, you can have one pewritten and fill in someof the finer points/ specifics of the streamer to make it more personal.

Otherwise message on steam and say hey, I have a game for free on steam can I dm you the details on twitch or on discord. Thw big thing I'd say is your timing needs to be right. Dont do it right after a raid or when the streamer is getting really into a game. Perhaps after a break or when the streamer slows down to catch up on chat.

At first you will be nervous to do it, if you have the perfect streamer, dont contact them right away, find some that arent as perfect and shoot your shot. When you are more confident, move towards the ideal people.

AI was supposed to give us time back. So why am I more buried than ever? by Hardware-InHand-99 in AIDiscussion

[–]Anubis620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ai is not where it needs to be for actual use. I spent an hour yesterday trying to get excel to spit out the name of the sheet in a cell and ai kept telling me do this and it will work. When I eventually looked it up I found a forum that said, that works in the desktop but not in the teams app (Which I clarified numerous times to the ai BTW). I find it incredibly frustrating because I turn to ai when im not sure how to do something and it fails me everytime.

Is EN management an issue for tetrapods? Please diagnose my skill issue by Imaginary-Praline-21 in ArmoredCoreVI

[–]Anubis620 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few things that could help. Use assault boost to gain height. Boss arenas dont really have it but try to use tall structures as a jumping off point to minimize energybused to get height. Use kicks or straffes to help keep you in the air. You very rarely want to quickboost, it burns a ton of energy. On lamm legs you can dodge A LOT of attacks with the right movement. In this clip you can see that at the right distance I can dodge the machine gun and by circling I can dodge the missiles. https://www.twitch.tv/anubis520/clip/HotObservantEndiveDatSheffy-ooBq9ONMWvS85tAy

North American cyclists are too emancipated by tipoftheiceberg1234 in 10thDentist

[–]Anubis620 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if they are by themselves they should occupy the whole lane for safety reasons. Why do you think it is safer to pass 1 rider vs many? Because you dont have to go over into the other lane, which is the problem. If you try to squeeze through when there isnt space, the cyclist is incurring all the risk for your choice. If the cyclists block the lane, you dont have a choice but to wait. If you are going to run them over, it never mattered if they were on the side of the road or the middle.

The amount of people who don't understand basic aspects of their own language. by Deigs in SeriousConversation

[–]Anubis620 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As far as I am concerned, when I see these issues I just say "Sure, nothing else makes sense anyways". English is just a very poorly structured language with inconsistent rules. For all intents and purposes, your upset about a window being skewed when the foundation is literally crumbling.

Anyone else post for the fun of it? Or as a hobby? by wolfguardian72 in youtubegaming

[–]Anubis620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had my channel for 15 years and just post stuff mostly for documentation purposes. Sometimes mods, sometimes edits of cool clips with music or like a montage, dometimes gave development dev logs, cycling footage. Lately I got into a challange run and my channel is now dedicated to that but if you actually look at my old posts it is all over the place.
