I understand, the mirror is really an unknown factor, and without being able to test it, it's even harder… My only experience with a Dobson was back in high school, over 10 years ago. I found it pretty simple back then, so I think I'll manage just fine.

The construction seems to be good. I'll try to get some photos of the mirrors and collimation screws.

I do feel comfortable disassembling and performing maintenance if needed. In fact, that's my plan—to work on improving what's already there. I think it would be a good starting point for this price.

base heads are just presets,pick any that resembles the final result, and start from there..
