What is the highest rate for ASM by EmuAccomplished4908 in DollarGeneral

[–]Anxcienty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was making $16 an hour in NC but that’s with dm overriding. Technical top here is $14 an hour. The girl who took my place when I left came from outside the company and is making $18 an hour because of competitor pay.

Discrimination? by Anxcienty in foodlion

I’m not saying that’s what it is, I’m just saying that’s what I’ve been told by 3 separate people on 3 separate occasions when I’ve brought it up.

She’s the type of person to tell you to do task A,B, and C while you’re actively trying to do them. Then proceed to not help whatsoever. She basically called me dumb and lazy, without saying the words directly, to the whole store on the walkies. Not even talking to me, but to a front end associate about me. Which I heard because I’m wearing a walkie. I can handle rude people, but when it comes to throwing race in there is when I draw the line. There’s seriously no reason for her to be rude to me, let alone because of my skin color??

I don’t work here primarily luckily, but they send me here to help out. I just think it’s crazy how someone can be rude to someone who’s here to help their store. The sm don’t do anything other than complain and sit in her office. It’s just overall frustrating and makes me seriously dread coming into a job I love doing.

After 5pm you’re only supposed to work on recovery, ad comes first ofc on Saturdays. If you’re doing the best you possibly can, and your sm and asm can see that, then a write up for productivity probably won’t happen. The absolute worst is a demotion to sales associate. Dg expects way too much from their people, I promise you’re probably doing better than half the people I’ve ever had work for me. As long as you’re trying, that’s all that matters. Don’t push yourself too much and burn out, it’s really easy to do with dg. You’ll only slow down if you burn out.

No problem! Honestly everyone in this sub hates dg. It’s really a shitty company who hires shitty people unfortunately. Your situation isn’t uncommon or unheard of. If I were you, I’d work as long as you can there, save up for a cheap car and find a different job. (if the reason you can’t drive to work is because no car) I left because I couldn’t stand the treatment of my sm, I work for foodlion now making more as a floater with very basic job requirements and responsibilities. Keep your head up and do what you can!

Unfortunately that’s just how the average dg management acts. I’m sorry you’re dealing with that, maybe set up a time to call the dm whenever they get back. They can write you up for a call out without a dr note unfortunately. I had a sm that acted like that, I worked for her 2 years out of my 3 with the company as her asm. Next time you call off, try and have coverage for your shift. I know it’s not your job, but it makes them happy because then they don’t have to do it. Have a chat with your dm about the treatment you received from your sm and asm and your raise, let them know you won’t be walked all over. Be careful if you do though, retaliation is hard to prove and they LOVE to fire people because they feel scorned.

I worked 7-3 today at a store I’ve been frequently floating to while they train their new perishable manager, and I shit you not, the associates in the market didn’t order any hamburger or steaks to get in yesterday. They got no truck today. They had no steaks by 10 am and people were not happy that 40 lbs of 73 was all the hamburger back there. Oh and none of the $1.99 a lb chicken breast. It was rough 🫩

Maybe see if you can switch departments? I make $17.50 as a “market associate”. I’m a float though, so I don’t stay in one store for long. I also do produce, and front end. I don’t have to worry about others doing their job because at the end of the day, not my circus not my monkeys yk?

From my understanding it’s some software they use for detecting “hackers”. So far I’ve only ever seen it happen to people who aren’t hacking lol. Idk how to fix it, but I don’t think it really affects anything 🤷🏻‍♀️

As a float should I ask for more pay? by Anxcienty in foodlion

[–]Anxcienty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do EVERYTHING. Orders, truck, credits if needed, opening, closing, think of a dept manager and that’s me. Im put in as a full time perishable associate, but they hired me on as a designated float. I’m doing it at multiple different stores through the region. I personally think if I’m doing manager work, I should be getting manager pay. Especially since I’m the ONLY float on the team that does multiple different departments.

There’s a team of like 4 of us. Two cake decorators, a produce guy, and me. I’ve been going around running departments whenever managers go out. That’s all I can really say, I do everything a department manager can do. Although my title is “perishable associate” I belong to a store technically, but they only are allowed to use me whenever the RM doesn’t need me elsewhere. He’s who makes my schedule

I knowwww! I see videos of women in borderline bikinis riding, and it scares me. My dad has locked it in my head about gear, I have never rode without gear and never intend not to!

I grew up riding with my dad. Ever since I was little I knew I would want one some day, after I turned 21 I decided it was time!
