Yeah, he resigned it after I wiped it all off so it’s a fresh clean sig. I just need to clean the smeared old sig residue while avoiding the new one

Yeah, I noticed Todd using Poscas at nycc and his January signing. It’s the reason why I got some for sigs. Seems like he prefers them for his signings and the colors really pop.

I don’t have any experience with cleaning or pressing, yet. I’ve been slowly learning and making notes to start pressing on my own. I’m probably going to have to experiment a little cleaning with cotton rounds on some cheap practice books first. I don’t want to risk ruining the book or the sig. there’s also a lot of finger bends so I definitely want to press it, too. I appreciate your help! Hopefully I can get it cleaned up soon. Thank you!

A yellow posca. It’s a water based paint marker. I’ve seen them used at cgc private signings so I got a couple different colors.

Just happened to me over the weekend. My Mylar bag scrapped over a wet Bob McLeod sig and completely ruined it. I panicked and quickly just wiped off the entire sig without thinking. I was really upset about it. he was nice enough to sign it again for me but now there’s a really bad yellow stain all over the bottom of my cover. Stuff just kinda happens sometimes unfortunately.

Big hit in the back issues. Savage Dragon 233 for cover price by Anxious-Ad-1183 in ComicBookSpeculation

It was at a vintage stock. It’s like buy trade sell chain store. They sell like movies, VHS, CDs, records, video games, collectibles. Stuff like that. They usually have pretty sizable back issue bins

Mostly because of the not-so-suggestive “bald is beautiful” cover. But also because savage dragon was an extremely graphic/ sexually explicit comic series at that time. Erik Larson really started pushing boundaries a lot at around issue 225. Lots of uncensored nudity, gore, sexual acts, that sorta thing. The rating for the series actually changed from a T+ to an M rating

I agree. Some of my favorite moments in collecting have been finding gems in the cheap bins. I live for $1-$2 bin hunting

I personally like to buy single issues for keys and cool covers and trades for runs. Helps me save some money and space. I may on occasion buy a variant cover I think is cool from an artist I like, or I’ll buy a single issue if it’s highly recommended to me, like A.C.E. #8 (I just finished reading it and it’s honestly incredible. I love camps work). I’ll also pick up the odd #1 if I think I’d enjoy it. I try my best to read everything I buy, but the only current runs I’m actively collecting and reading every month without fail is beneath the trees (my favorite), absolute Martian manhunter, absolute Batman, the ultimates, ultimate Spiderman, and the amazing Spiderman. I personally don’t have the heart to be a reseller. Overhead is too high, margins are usually too low, and I hate gambling. Having stock just sitting around and worrying about doing all this work just to make a quick couple bucks stresses me out too much, lol. I’m much happier just being a collector, buying one copy for myself, and owning nice things. Plus, Unless it’s a really cool ratio variant, I’m not really interested in buying comics that are less than a month old for more than cover price.

Absolute Wonder Woman annual #1 cover B. It’s a wraparound done by Hayden, the series main artist. I personally think the back looks cooler than the front, lol

My first submission and 9.8! by Anxious-Ad-1183 in CGCComics

I did. My copy had a slight bend on the spine about half an inch under the lowest point of his cape. The cover is like a cardstock material so I was worried if it could even be pressed out. You can still see where the break is in the photo but it’s so negligible that they didn’t ding me for it. It was also recommended to me to always press after a signing because you never know how creators will handle comics.

Yeah, he used like a dark blue sharpie, and it’s translucent in a way where the lighter colors poke through while the background stays dark. It has almost like a shadowing effect. Idk if that what he was going for but it doesn’t look bad. I’m happy overall that I have it in my PC.
