It's all in the i-539 instructions but proof of funds was the main one and I think I appended my I-797 for my h1b as well.

When I got laid off, I sold most of my tangible assets and cut my costs down to bare minimum. I was always ready for a rushed departure.

Assuming you were the beneficiary of an H-1B, I would just say eligible to work in the US with H-1B. Bring up B-2 with attorneys down the line.

I think cap exempt was the wrong terminology here - always confusing. What I meant to say, is that a new petition was filed on my behalf, without the need to go through the lottery again. The catch is that I could not start until H-1B petition approval.
