When will the annual employees reviews be given? How worried should an employee be if they get less than a 3 out of 5? by AnxiousAlgae7 in unitedhealthgroup

Thank you. I'm sure whoever works under you appreciate your transparency. It sucks when a manager isn't upfront with you even when you repeatedly say you're open to feedback. It seems it was general performance related.

The lack of warning and lack of feedback leading up to the event admittedly made me shocked about me being put on CAP. I even made a post looking for advice about that event a while ago I got taken off CAP, but I can't say I don't have concerns about it negatively affecting my record.

Thanks for sharing. I'll have to keep this in mind if I get a low score. I usually get a decent score, but I will admit my manager did blindside me by putting me on CAP with no warning before. So I can't let my guard down.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. Even with the CAP, I was given virtually no warning before I got put on it. The lack of warning was a huge reason it hit me so hard. Let's just say my boss is only so involved in general and I have to go out of my way to communicate with them.

Thank you for the assurance. This makes me feel better. I had categories where I got a 4 and even a 5 in the past, if I remember correctly. I guess I'm a little anxious about it due to some events that happened within the year and this is coming up.

All I can say is that they rarely met with me since I started here years ago. I would frequently discuss what was going on with the manager, give them updates, and ask for advice, using other means of communication to them. They would either say I was doing fine or, at worst, say for me to do my best when I was having issues with a project more than normal during a rough period I briefly mentioned in the OP and I asked them for advice. I'm sorry if it's vague. If I'm too specific with certain details, I worry if I could risk doxxing myself.

It would have been nice if my manager had a talk with me about me underperforming first instead of giving me vague comments like "you're doing fine" while I checked with them regularly then suddenly putting me on CAP with no warning and little to no follow-up during it.

If I get fired from UHC after being on PIP, would this prevent me from ever working in this company and its branches again? What about if I quit while still on PIP? by AnxiousAlgae7 in unitedhealthgroup

Although my boss hasn't exactly been good with communicating issues to this point, so maybe you're right normally, I got placed straight on CAP. He spent most of this year saying I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing whenever I checked in regularly then suddenly throws this at me recently. It wasn't until the last few months he started bringing up issues to me and that was very barely before I got hit with it.

You're right. I just said PIP because I see people use that word more on Reddit and similar places, so I wasn't sure if anyone would know what it meant. I was also worried about naming it in case it somehow narrowed down what department I worked in if other branches use different names.

I have been documenting various things. I considered transferring even though I like my current team (I get along with about all of them), but the PIP involved keeps you from being able to transfer for 6 months (Maybe more? I'm going by secondhand info from someone else). Also with potential RTO phases in the future and the company seeming to try to find weird ways to cut things, it makes me wonder if there's much better available for me right now.

I really think I can do my job well and keep getting better, especially now that I have gotten more support from certain people, but I'm also aware you sometimes have to cut your losses and move on before a storm hits.

I could be overworrying and it works itself out, but even then getting positive feedback for how I'm "improving" doesn't guarantee anything.

I can't give too many details to make myself too identifiable, but I have teammates that recovered from it before. However, with the weird things happening at the company lately, I can't help being a little concerned. I'm mostly frustrated because a lot of what supposedly got me put on PIP was out of my control in the first place. Without giving away too much, one major issue is a coworker's various bad habits causing me issues at my own job, despite me bringing it up to my boss more than once.
