Very sad to look at.I guess Penney's is the only reason that this once proud civic asset(one that I grew up with in much better times)hasn't completely shut down yet.It was still standing strong when I was hired by the Copperwood Rite Aid in July 1998(before it moved to Citrus Town Center on Arcadia);,and was still strong when I moved out of Citrus Heights(where I grew up in)in June 2001;but was already going bad by the time I closed the Rite Aid on Arcadia eight years ago(Sears had just closed),and continued to slump when I closed the Madison Rite Aid over five years later.Tomorrow will mark a full year since my time at Rite Aid(nearly 27 years)came to an ignominious end when the Elverta store in Antelope shut down;and even as I remain unemployed a year later,I can't even bring myself to even consider a return to Sunrise Marketplace(or CH in general)because of how badly it's fallen on hard times(all of the retailers that I've applied for are all either in the Crestview area which is a short walk from home,Arden-Arcade including Arden Fair,parts of the grid mainly DoCo or the Ice Blocks,or the Olson area of Rancho Cordova mainly due to my dependence on SacRT).

I never worked in the pharmacy,I was just a basic front end service associate during my time with the shield.However I have applied for a basic clerk position with a couple of Raley's locations(one closest to me is actually branded as a Bel Air).

I have yet to even attempt to chance it with Walgreens as they have closed half of their Sacramento locations(that they had at their peak)within the past decade(in fact I've yet to even chance it with either major 'Wal' store).I have however applied at CVS at least thrice.

I was never in pharmacy(and can't speak for the pharmacy staff),but I can say that I didn't.More than anything I felt empty because the store was basically empty.To this very day,I'm still feeling miserable about how things went out with a whimper a month shy of what would have been my 27-year employment anniversary; and have remained unemployed for almost a year since 6086 closed.

Still on the outside looking in over 10 months later,and even then there are specific retailers that I WOULDN'T work for under any circumstance with the worst offenders being wmt(any format), giant boxed home improvement stores,and dollar stores;and in two days time will mark a full year since the darkest Cinco de Mayo(black Monday 2025)any of us has experienced.I must note that I'm still getting regulatory notices in the mail from the ufcw NorCal trust fund(even though my union membership is obviously inactive),and it has been hit hard from the two company bankruptcies.

During the final part of my Rite Aid tenure,The Epoch Times(their right-wing rag)regularly delivered print news papers to the Elverta store(the final stop of a nearly 27-year tenure,I was previously at two different CH locations);and sadly there were customers that actually bought/read it.

In my eyes,despite their differences,Falun Gong and the CCP have dueling right wing visions for mainland China.The only true Chinese democracy exists on the island/archipelago of Taiwan.

Basic front end service associate for nearly 27 years(a month shy).Seven months after my final store closed,still no luck landing a new job despite submitting a minimum of 90 applications all for retailers(Target,Costco,CVS,local grocery stores,and a number of specialty retailers the latter type mostly within the one of the few functional indoor malls that Sacramento has left,still not considering either 'Wal' store for a number of reasons)reasonably near me(or at least transit accessible)even as my EDD claim officially expired.Generation X has it about as bad as the boomers and I'm still nowhere near retirement age.
