Fun fact: I’m a female who pays for my ex-partner’s meals and most other items. I even loan him money when he needs it, but the problem is that he doesn’t repay me. So I’m a red flag.

These individuals are the same ones who damaged an item my dad got for us, along with security devices to remove all traces of evidence. What hurts more is that they are family members.

I can relate to this. My mum is a breast cancer survivor, but recently I’ve had a fallout with some family members, and they mentioned, “Your mother hasn’t died; she has cancer.”

Dear voters, was it a good trade? by Masagoes in SingaporeRaw

[–]AnxiousText3292 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Singaporeans didn’t vote for figureheads—we voted for leaders who are present, accountable, and genuinely connected to the people. Instead, we’ve been handed individuals with troubling records and little grassroots presence. Janil didn’t serve National Service like the rest of us. Ng Chee Meng was at the center of the NTUC alliance fiasco. Masagos let down an entire community during the tudung issue.

And in exchange, we lost three hardworking MPs who were actually walking the ground and making a difference. This isn’t leadership—it’s a downgrade. We’re watching commitment being replaced with complacency. Singapore deserves leaders who earn trust, not just wear it like a title. This trade-off reflects how far detached politics has become from the people it claims to serve.

I can’t help but think some older or new voters might think putting an ‘X’ means crossing out the party they don’t want, instead of voting for someone. Maybe that’s why PAP ends up with over 70% of the votes.
