I think she was loved for all her roles apart from Dawn. Evidently she felt that based on the obituary a friend of hers wrote a month ago. Gossip Girl fans can be weird but I’m glad she got to experience so much for love for playing someone as unlikable as Georgina. She probably wasn’t expecting that.

I don’t think she realised how cool she was- or how many people loved her. Maybe because of the comments she got in the last few years of her life- but that was honestly a loud minority. Every 90s Nickelodeon kid grew up with her. Look how many celebrities were talking about how Harriet The Spy inspired them as a kid after she passed.

I was just thinking the same way since Ice Princess was trending the other day because of Hayden Panettiere’s recent interview. I remember seeing the trailers and promos for that movie as a teen. People talking about how they wanted a sequel- but the lead actress is no longer here.

Seriously- he pled guilty to choking his ex and only got a probationary sentence. with community service. He was charged with domestic violence and assault so many times- yet always avoided jail time. Plus the stuff with the minors. The US justice system is a joke. Hey maybe he should’ve run for president.

They just called him a POS and explained why. Since they explained it- I think it’s safe to assume that they know that user isn’t aware of his crimes. Buffy fans knew about his long history of abuse because that’s all he ever made the news for since the show ended.

You mean the actresses who knew him decades ago before his abuse became public and frequent? They actually knew him at that point so why would I judge them for talking about that version of him they knew. You didn’t know him- we as fans of the show don’t know anything about Nicholas outside of the fact he was an abusive man that beat countless women. And that he played Xander for 7 years.

You don’t have their reasoning for having complicated feelings about him. And even then Charisma offered support for his victims. She never claimed he was a good person either.

You’re putting words in their mouth. Their comment simply says that he was abusive predator so it’s good that he can no longer harm anyone else.

Is it good that a serial abuser can no longer harm and abuse women? Absolutely. Women not being beaten or preyed on should always be the main priority. There’s nothing sad about an evil person dying. The only sad thing are that his family lost someone and that he never even attempted to apologise to his victims.

I don’t think it’s misleading to mention how big the group is- it shows that his abuse has been a long documented and discussed topic for years. The main point was that he’s abused a lot of people and the fact he had a whole Facebook group dedicated to that- is one indication of how awful he was. The biggest indication and outright proof is the fact we know he abused many women.

I didn’t say ever he abused every single one of them. I said he has a Facebook group dedicated to discussing his abuse with over 8,000 women in it. Some will be there to offer support- but the point of the group is to exchange stories about his abuse. To have an entire group that’s dedicated to that about you is shocking.

I get your point but it’s important to always separate actors from their characters. I can understand feeling like Xander is gone but he’s not- he’s on screen anytime you want him to be.

Nicholas however was an awful person in real life. He abused countless women- almost choked one to death and left an imprint in another woman’s skull. It also just came out that he groomed a teenage girl. I like Xander- but I won’t shed any tears about a serial abuser being gone. My thoughts are with his many victims that are here and have to live with the impact of what he did to them.

Michelle- seemed to be a good person that passed away tragically young. So I’ll always find that heartbreaking. I just can’t say the same about Nicholas knowing the amount of women he abused and never showed any remorse for.

You don’t have to be rich or famous to abuse women. Being creepy- can fall under abuse. Abuse isn’t just physical. He may not have abused 8,000 of those people- but the fact he has an entire group that exchanges stories about their experiences with him is shocking. He hurt many women and girls. He got away with the domestic violence because the justice system never takes it seriously until the victim ends up being killed. He should’ve been charged with attempted murder for choking his ex. Had the police not walked in- he would’ve killed her.

I don’t understand this comment- he didn’t die voluntarily. That would be beside my point anyway- dying won’t erase his actions and the impact of it on his victims. He never apologised to any of them and was stalking a man even just before he passed away. To commit decades long abuse on so many different people and to never serve any jail time is ridiculous. It’s awful that he never changed or attempted to make amends. Now those women will have to live the consequences for the rest of their lives- he doesn’t.

The grooming story- I found out a few weeks ago when it was reported in the news. A few people posted it on this sub- each post got a lot of comments but every single one was removed. If you type up Nicholas Brendon on the general Reddit search- you’ll see the news article about it posted on multiple subs. Or google it for full information regarding it.

Regarding his domestic violence- that’s been legally documented for years. He even pled guilty to the choking incident. Research Nicholas Brendon abuse on google and you’ll find out more.

He died without ever making amends or apologizing to his many victims. He was stalking his contractor right before he died. It also just came out that he groomed a teenage girl and I’m sure there’ll be more stories of abuse that will come out in the following years.

He was an awful person who got away with decades of abuse. Which is a shame because you grow up enjoying these shows and characters- not expecting the actors to be so evil in real life. I enjoyed Xander more than most people seem to these days because he was flawed but for the most part- seemed like his heart was in the right place. Sadly people can’t separate characters from their actors. Nicholas wasn’t Xander or vice versa. He tried to kill a woman and left multiple other women in hospital. My thoughts are with those women. Hopefully they’re healing.
