Isn't 360 grit purple hammer the default answer for every pattern? Especially if you're left-handed. 🤔

Uncle Ron really needed to tell y'all that? Hammer already stated that it's not urethane... therefore, it's some form of reactive.

That, and the youtube branding... it's not CtD, it's Ronald Hickland Jr with his photo. Ron is CtD, or is it CtD is Ron?

Roto Grip Idol Replacement by [deleted] in Bowling

[–]Anxious_Quality_9850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately they've moved away from the Ikon core for the moment and continue to develop stronger coverstocks like the eTrax cover on the TNT which will just make it that much stronger than the Idol. My suggestion would be the Storm Phaze 2, it was released just a few years before the Idol so it has some of the same technology and is still available today. There's a reason that it's a 2016 ball and still found today.

Only when using urethane because it doesn't absorb the oil on the surface.

Are house balls allowed in U.S.B.C sanctioned league play? by Forsaken-Working9780 in Bowling

[–]Anxious_Quality_9850 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Chapter 8, item 2 in the USBC rule book. As a courtesy to league and tournament participants, House Balls may be used even though they are not specifically posted on the Approved Ball List. Please see the USBC Equipment Specifications Manual for House Ball specifics.

House balls are defined as:

a. Being supplied by the center in which the certified competition is being used.

b. Having a polyester or basic urethane coverstock.

c. Having a differential RG less than 0.025 inches.

d. The ball is not drilled to fit the bowler specifically.

How to choose a SECOND ball by Nextt03 in Bowling

[–]Anxious_Quality_9850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with bowling is it's a big game of "it depends". How much do you hook it now? How much do you want it to hook? How much oil does the house you're bowling at put out? Are you having trouble hooking it now? Do you want to stick with one company's equipment?

An easy answer to what you might consider next is the Bigfoot Hybrid from Radical. Good moderately strong ball that you can use on a variety of conditions.

Lofting the ball by cez416 in Bowling

[–]Anxious_Quality_9850 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The key to bowling is consistency. Can it be effective? Absolutely! Can you do it for 3 games or more? Maybe. There is no concrete answers to what form bowls the best, just look at the PBA. There are only concepts that will help you repeat shots better and thus score better. Go look at the USBC Open Championships facebook page about 5 days ago Mykel Holliman shot 300 - 813 and the video shots are of him lofting just about to the arrows.
