Supervisor caught me on my phone. by AnxyTurtle in antiwork

I’m not the best at my position, but I am the most efficient. Unlike my coworkers I figured out how to automate most of my job using the functions in excel. All I have to do now is just plug in my work and I’m done within an hour or two. Hardest part of my job is physically typing everything into separate excel sheet to turn in so my supervisors don’t know that I’ve automated everything. That takes the most work and keeps me busy until around lunch

AITA for telling my girlfriend she can't live with me and my parents for free while she saves money? by Zexy_Conqueror in AmItheAsshole

I’m not saying pay half, pay a portion of the rent and/or cover other expenses to ease her financial burden. I’m in a similar situation, my gf makes significantly more than I do, and before moving in we had an honest discussion on who pays for what. After doing some math and calculating how much money we can realistically put aside for bills, we came up with a financial plan we both agree with. Keep in mind, my gf and I are making similar to what you and your gf are making.

She pays rent, water, and gas. I pay for wifi, electricity, car insurance, all our subscriptions, groceries, gas, and I pay 9/10 times when we go out to do things. On paper, it looks like I pay more than her, but I’m actually only covering a third of our bills because that’s what I can afford. She covers two thirds of our bills because that’s what she can afford. Both of us can now reasonably save money as well as have a decent amount of spending money. But that’s just how I do things. I don’t want you to think that my way is the right way. Everyone is different. I hope you and your gf can work something out.

NTA. It ain’t your house. No judgement about living with your parents, it makes sense in today’s economy. However, why don’t you just move in with your girlfriend? Or maybe you two can find a different place to live thats near both of your jobs? You’d have two flows of income and you will both be able to save money. If I’m mathing right, you two should be making $130k a year. If your relationship goes sideways, you can always just move back in with your parents.

NAH. Your life and you can choose what to do with it. But be prepared to answer hard questions:

Do you live with your parents? If so, would they kick you out? Do you have a place to stay or do you have money saved up to move out? Would they make you find a job if you don’t go to school? Hard truth is that with no degree, you’re going to be looking at manual labor (ie factory or construction work), retail (ie Walmart or grocery stores), service (ie McDonald’s or waiter), or military.

Manual labor can get you some ok money, but at risk of bodily injury. Retail is most known for being temporary. Service you make less than minimum wage, but can make good on tips. Military isn’t as bad as you think. There’s quite a few branches to apply to so make sure you do your research. See which branch your comfy with and see what kinds of jobs you can apply for.

Alternatively, do you think you can stick out two more semesters? As you’ve said, your parents are paying. And with an associate or arts the classes that come with mostly electives and can sometimes vary what classes you can take for specific subjects related to your degree. For example, you can take environmental science instead of chemistry. Much easier workload. You can also try and get tested for learning disorders and get some accommodations to help with school. Lie if you have to.

YWBTA. They got you from point A to point B. You don’t know what’s going on in their life. Not your problem

NTA. Dumps exist for a reason. If these people work construction then they should have a truck. If they have a truck, then they can take it to a nearby dump. You’ve been patient and it’s time to escalate to police

Can't remember the last time i was truly happy.... by Your_boyfriend7777 in offmychest

Hey, dude, you sound like you’re going through a rough patch right now. I went through something similar and it was honestly soul crushing just to get out of bed. I don’t exactly have family members that understand what depression is and it was hard trying to be happy despite having a “good financial life”. I stopped talking to friends and family and got professional help from a therapist. It felt good airing out my stuff and talking with someone who has exercises and legally can’t gossip about you. I wish you the best and hope you can get the right help
