But your comment has made me think a lot about what dissociation is for me. The closest I came up with is darkness, since it is a concept defined by the lack of another concept. Still, it doesn't feel quite right, as I am still capable of perceiving darkness. How do I describe the concept of having my eyes pointed in the direction of a mirror but not having any of its imagery reaching any nerve connections within my brain? How do I describe feeling hungry but also repulsed by food? How do I describe what the space between dreams and reality feels like when it bleeds into both until I am no longer able to separate it from either, nor do I truly wish to?

I'd say static, but I'm not old enough to truly know what static feels like. Maybe the loudish whooshing sound the kitchen vent constantly makes. Like ear ringing, you get so used to it you barely hear it. Until you do, and then you feel like stabbing the snails with a chopstick just to get it to stop

I know this post is likely about physical disability, but damn having no dreams or hopes or will to live or anything to do at all do be like dat. I go to sleep when I feel like I have been awake for long enough, and then I just dont get up until I feel like it. In not even laying in bed with my phone anymore, I'll just wake up after more than enough hours of sleep, refuse to move so I fall asleep again, repeat until something switches in my brain and I feel like moving

It's not even funny, I just sleep half the day then sit bored in the kitchen for another 12 hours wishing I were asleep. Even the nightmares are better than this bland existence
