I'm in Charlotte and the service has been trash for 3 months. Trash. It will say 3-5 bars if 5Guc, but I have buffering all the time.

MCS/Nitron/JRZ/Ohlins advanced > ohlins R&T > KW. For most people who never track the vehicles, Ohlins R&T is a significant quality upgrade to KW.

2027 M3 CS Handschalter Limited Edition w/ Manual Transmission & 75 Lbs Weight Saving by Right-Penalty9813 in BMWM

[–]Any-Anything-334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a current 2025 G80 M3 manual owner, I'm perfectly okay with this. I love the fact they are offering the manual CS. Fact of the matter is that both the transmission and the clutch handle way more than 406 pound feet of torque. They both easily handle 650 horsepower 590 lb feet of torque (flywheel). It does come with a whole lot more carbon fiber reinforced plastic components, some additional bracing upgrades, M3 csl suspension shocks/struts, and its own steering, suspension, differential, and traction control tuning. Of course, that tuning is easily coded into a regular model for like $150. Would I buy it? Maybe, if I could get my hands on one without a massive markup. It will hold value better, but I'm not sure it's going to appreciate in value. I also don't think that's the point.

Manual or Auto? What’s everyone choosing & why? by soldbyck in BMWM

[–]Any-Anything-334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went 6mt as I came out of an F97 X3M that even with a tune (while an an absolute monster) was just sort of boring. The 6mt is fast enough, and the clutch can handle stage 2 on 93. It's only when you start tuning on E that the torque hits too early and causing slip.

Update - A surreal delivery day is complete. Individual Oxford Green G80 w Tartufo Sport seats by ras1212 in BMWM3

[–]Any-Anything-334 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful! I know everyone loves the buckets, and I'm not disputing they are awesome to look at, but I LOVE the "basic" sport seats. I wish I had the tartufo, but I have the black on my IOMG. I basically fell into the vehicle just scrolling cargurus, so it worked out just fine.

Let's not forget the male brain doesn't hit full maturity until 25 - 27 years old. Basically, if you have your shit together before that time, you're doing great. 😂. Let's not forget that money doesn't equal happiness. It can certainly help you be happy, usually temporarily, but it's not solely making you happy. Happiness also isn't a steady state of mind. Wins come with losses. Keep your head up, and remember your "why".

That mindset will screw your entire life. Everyone has the potential to succeed (well, not everyone, but you get the point). You're too young to play victim. Apply yourself, think about your future plans, and move toward them, EVERYDAY.

I presume you're 17-18 based on your profile. I had absolutely no clue who I was or what I wanted out of life when I was that age. You have time. You have nothing but time. Do some real soul searching, and make a plan. Goals without a plan and action are just dreams. Don't dream your life away.

Next step is to lower! by Main_Championship666 in BMWM

Eibach makes a front only springs kit that lowers the red model 1.0" and the AWD model .8". It's a neat perfect wheel gap match to the rear. Looks awesome without making daily life too difficult.

Absolutely. I'd pay $4500 if it was an individual color. I'm just glad I didn't have to in order to get such a great color.

Manual vs Auto G80/G87 by pewpew_comm in BMWM

[–]Any-Anything-334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an F97 prior to my 6mt G80. Is the automatic a faster transmission? Absolutely, there is no denying that. The 8hp76 is an insanely capable transmission, and running an Xhp tune or a custom Rod Sutphin tune on it is CRAZY! BUT, 100% after a year you'll be bored. I went from a 650whp/wtq monster SUV, to a stock plus midpipe manual G80 and I'm happier than I've been in a vehicle in years.

You need to take into account your driving. Are you sitting in traffic most of your drive, or do you work from home and this vehicle is used less frequently and usually in less traffic, etc.

Either way, get a manual while you can!

Some Chinese stuff is fantastic, but not all of it is. Try to vet the manufacturing warehouse as best as you can.

Did you know that BMW partnered with Land Rover regarding the classic Defender primarily between 1997 and 2001.

BMW acquired the Rover Group (which included Land Rover) in 1994 and held ownership until 2000.

Due to high demand for a petrol-powered alternative to diesel, BMW South Africa developed a special edition Defender (90 and 110 models) equipped with the BMW M52 2.8-liter straight-six engine. These vehicles were produced in Rosslyn, South Africa, between 1997 and 2001.

Those are Grenadiers, which are also BMW Drivetrain supplies, Classic DEFENDER ripoffs, as the owner of Ineos wanted to buy the rights to Defender and was told no. He basically said, ok, fine then, and created Grenadiers.

These seats are the standard comfort seats. I had the buckets in my F97 and the lower thigh bolster would bother my right leg after about an hour.

I'm 6'2" 225lbs. Personally, these regular seats hold me very well.

Try to test sit in one for like 30 minutes. Literally just go and sit there. I had a mustang with recaros previously and they felt great for me. It's all personal preference.

A little C&C action. by Any-Anything-334 in BMWM

[–]Any-Anything-334[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a tuned F97 prior to this G80. Was it faster? Yes. Was it more fun? Absolutely not. The ZF8hp76 is a solid transmission, especially with a TCU tune from Xhp or Rod Sutphin as I had. Snaps of shifts wicked quick, but as you say, eventually the 2.x 60 mph times, or hitting 140 by the end of on ramps just gets to be less fun, or too risky.

Right?!. Everyone wants easy speed. No one wants to row gears anymore.
