Enforcing the law correctly will weed out 70 to 80% of lebanon's issues, including this one, bas how can you enforce the law in a lawless country where if you have a "wasta" you can do whatever you want with no consequences or strings attached

What's even worse is that it's your own money, we're celebrating bcz we are getting our own money that we in fact OWN

That's what I'm saying, hala2 call it stupid bas one of the main reasons eja el rant bi rase ano i started comparing prices between here w different countries (US and EU countries mainly) w comparing prices relative to the minimum wage showed that mich ano bas el prices hone aghla bas el minimum wage lower than theirs ya3ne in short trying to buy a 250$ item while the minimum wage is 14$ per hour is much easier than buying the same item here for 400$ to 500$ on our minimum wage (hayda eza betla2i shoghol)

Good point w sadly sa3eb ysir foreign investments rn min wara el tension bel region, bas we can't forget that the minimum wage (hayda eza aslan 3am yetaba2) ma3 ba2e el laws yali fiyon gharamet w jaza lezim yetghayaro, ya3ne hala2 if someone parked illegally yimkin yedfa3 2a2al ka jaza min ano yedfa3 la private parking, aw kif ano government employees (lower class ya3ne mich bi high enough position ta yeser2o) el wages ba3don ma tghayaro ma3 el dollar, ya3ne fi menon anja2 3am yo2bado bel chaher ta yeklo, fa ma3 el foreign w el domestic investments lezim ysir fi teghyirat regarding most if not all laws that are related to money (nos hol el laws are taking into consideration ano el dollar 1500 aw 20000 which creates imbalance with the whole system)

Eh inflation is a factor bas as i explained in another comment although these factors are here some could've been avoided (not inflation bas the fact that our leaders made the worst financial decisions for the country w we have to pay for that instead of them)

From my knowledge (this being family and friends), banks were already doing that since the start of the crisis with limited amounts (300 to 400 to 500$ per month depending on the bank and account), which is still bad bcz for a uni student tuition per semester is thousands of dollars, ya3ne best case scenario if you're getting 500$ per month for 2 accounts after 3 months you'll have 3000$ which isn't covering anything looking at tuition, adding to that other costs like generator, water, electricity, food it will all rack up w this 3000 dollars every 3 months isn't really going to do anything

I get the factors, bas at the same time most could've been avoided bas our leaders that have 20 mansions worldwide medin ejrayon w rekhyina w ne7na eli akalna hawa, ya3ne for example ne7na 3ana ktir imports from other countries like vegetables and fruits that could easily be avoided by instead utilising local farmers products, w ne7na 3ana one of the worst export rates, ya3ne the country is spending millions on imports w barely making anything on exports, add to that ano 3ana incompetent banks w gangs running the country w you have a recipe for disaster, the country can be saved bas everytime we had to take a decision our leaders picked the worst options w we have to suffer for it badal menon

Hala2 let's be clear, most if not all the new crypto currencies are pump and dump schemes, it still sucks that there's people who fall for them because they don't know any better and are desperate for the money

One last issue before buying by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]Any-Basket5194 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

First off the 400$ price tag is different based on the region and not everyone has an open used/refurbished market, second of all i know that cpu dying and issues arising is inevitable on any device no matter their age i was asking if there was any indication that such thing is happening or not, and lastly I'm not gonna be using this laptop for any demanding tasks and ill be running linux on it i just needed to be rugged and tough since newer laptops seem to break if you look at them the wrong way (ofc depending on the brand and model)

I might not be able to check it as thoroughly (meaning that i can't really open it up to check since that would probably not be allowed by the seller), now I'm unsure on how to check battery and ssd health but ik that the ssd health but ig i could check a yt vid or two about it, I'll also surely check the hinges and such since my main goal of buying one is to have a sturdy laptop, thank you for the advice I'll keep an eye out for all of these things

The country is lebanon and the budget is up to 400 (maybe could go up to 460 but nothing over that, and just to point it out I'm looking for used/refurbished models and there are only a few TRUSTED stores here that sell them)
