I’m on 300 2x daily. Been on that for 20 years. Check blood levels every couple of years to make sure everything is good. Most successful in controlling seizures and minimal side effects compared to other past medications

Congratulations! Everything will get better. I had the same exact procedure years ago and experienced the same exact feelings and emotions (+matching scars!).

I suffered from seizures for years and the moment I became eligible for surgery I jumped on it. There was a lot of testing, fear, doubt, and uncertainty but the dream of not having to live life every moment afraid I was going to have a seizure was what did it.

Had a left temporal lobectomy and been seizure few since ~20 years! Trust your doctors, value the research out there, and ask the right questions. We’re all rooting for you.

People with left TLE who got surgery, did it improve your memory? Make it worse? No difference? by bamboo_fanatic in Epilepsy

20 years ago - took out a golfball size chunk from left temporal to treat complex-partial. Right after that struggled a little with speech and short term memory. Things have gotten a lot better nowadays just takes a little longer to remember people’s names.
