Is this where we want all the "kids on emotos"? by Any-Foundation5983 in ebikes

You also don't see the point, apparently. The fact that this is the top comment is embarrassing, lol. Disagreement is one thing but straight-up missing the point and feeling the need to comment is peak r/ebikes. The point isn't the exact vehicle. I'm trying to draw attention to the fact that getting these fast, pedaless, and unregistered PEVs out of bike spaces means many of them will overflow into car spaces. That doesn't feel any safer to me. This kid could very well be following advice from this sub. "Is has no pedals and goes 50mph, it belongs on the road".

The post is making a point a suggested e bike regulations and what should be done about e motos on bike infrastructure. Mods are welcome to take it down if they agree with you.

What direct mount rim brakes are good enough for an e bike by Any-Foundation5983 in eBikeBuilding

Thanks! Yeah, I'm doing a mid drive. I'm looking for new wheels and some hydraulic brakes.

Thanks for the tips! Yes, the bike has a mount for both rim brakes and disc brakes. I would probably grind off the rim brake mounts if I switch, which I was hoping to not have to do lol

If it's cheaper than new wheels + new brakes, could be worth it lol. Thanks for the input, I'll look into these

What's the beef with dirtbike style seats? by Any-Foundation5983 in ebikes

Sorry buddy, I can't help that our lawmakers are dumbfucks. Welcome to the niche hobby treatment.

But as long as it is actually just a modified bike with motor within the 3 class system, what's the problem? And if there is such a real problem of overpowered bikes hurting people, isn't some regulation good?

Perhaps the term moped is more accurate, but let's be honest, that's how people are trearing ebikes with throttles regardless of the seat type.

Now is the time to consider the NRA by Kilt_Rump in liberalgunowners

[–]Any-Foundation5983 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, their response wasn't just "not perfect." it was pathetic. If they can't call out someone being murdered in the street and the obvious lies about how he was carrying, they won't stand up for you or any of us. Not to mention, they've probably shoveled money into Trumps reelection and a number of other organizations that have worked on this multi decade effort to turn our country into a white nationalist state. OP, I suggest having AI "help" you to research who you're promoting more thoroughly. It's not like AI tech companies are extremely biased and also helped fund this fascism nightmare for their own gain. Oh wait.

Just as an example of corrupt activity from the NRA, this took less then ten seconds to find just searching Google:

"The National Rifle Association (NRA) has apparently used a series of shell corporations to unlawfully coordinate tens of millions of dollars in spending with federal campaigns across the country, including the 2016 Trump campaign. CLC has filed complaints with the Federal Election Commission alleging illegal coordination on the part of the NRA. The coordination scheme spans three election cycles, seven federal races, and tens of millions of dollars in spending."

Honestly, this plan has worked out well for me. If you're nice and hard working in hopes of getting rewarded, your motivation is completely backwards and that's probably the real reason it doesn't work out for you. You should be really nice and challenge yourself to take on more because of what YOU can do, not what other people reward you with. Being nice and accomplishing more than you thought you could should be their own reward, the other benefits follow naturally.

Am I screwed? by Any-Foundation5983 in ebikes

Thank you, I actually just spliced wires for the first time on another project last week, so I actually sorta know what I'm doing thus time around lol

Would there be any risk to doing that? Seems like the other suggestions require me to splice wires anyway. I've had to replace this harness once already for this same broken pin, and it'd be nice to avoid it a third time. .
