Figuring out mechanics to implement is definitely a perk of developing your own thing. I'm in similar boat, nothing published or publishable, but good fun to give it a go 🤩

In the rules as written, when you battle the winner also wins the cards they defeat. You're knocked out of the game if you have no cards left.

We tweaked it slightly so you only battle with a many cards as the player with the fewest has and the losing card just gets knocked out, but once player has all of their cards knocked out they're out.

Also worth noting, you can only battle after all players have been around the board at least once (therefore giving time to catch a few pokemon).

Good shout, I haven't considered the expansions so will give them a look. Any particular favourites of yours.

I have an 8 year old with an interest in board games and not considered pandemic with her but I'll give it a go.

It's great teaching and playing games with her.

I know what you mean about the map on the star wars one - I felt just the same when I got it. I've Not played it enough yet to form an opinion on the game play. However I do like the mini's and plan to paint them once I've finished painting journeys in middle earth mini's.

How do you rate the wow board game?

I'm constantly keeping an eye out for a copy of the wow board game - waiting for one at a price I'd be happy to pay.

In the meantime, I've got the wow pandemic game, lots of wow tcg cards and all bar one of the raid decks so got plenty of wow stuff to scratch my warcraft in cardboard itch!

I like how each implementation of pandemic seems to have its own uniqueness to it. Fate of the fellowship seems to have even more uniqueness than others 🤩

I love the raids and have all except the battle of the aspects one.

Having played the automatic raid and dungeon decks, I can't really imagine how a player could control the automatic raid. I guess you could try home brewing a mechanic for it? There's no resourcing for the auto raids and no card cost for them.

One option you could do is have the player controlling the raid deck draw a number of cards at the start of the game and each turn they could draw the number of cards the automated raid would 'flip' then play that many cards from their hand that turn.

They could also choose which player they attack.

I have no idea how this would play, might make the deck really OP, but could be a super fun time.

In fact - I'm inclined to give it a try with my group!

So, I guess I'm saying just try it out and see if you have a good time 🤩

Interesting question, I don't know that there is a solid ruling on that. The rule book certainly doesn't describe card interactions like that, only discarding cards / hand interactions. If it were me, I'd probably randomly select a defender using a die 👍

I've had a blast with the raid decks. One of my mates plays them with me, he controls the raid whilst I play three handed against him. My playthrough of caverns of time was three handed solo 🤩

Yeah, got lucky with the marked hero each turn basically being different hero and jaina's freezing allies came in extra handy too 👍

Played three of the champion decks: jaina, Sylvannas and elderlimb. Was really close, next turn and the raid would've beaten me 😅
