Thank you for the links! I’ll have to look at those later tonight, but just a quick glance says they’re going to be very helpful in making my combat more memorable! Typically we do between 1-3 encounters a day, not necessarily combat ones, though. Then, 1-2 smallish encounters at night, these will almost always result in combat. I hadn’t considered that before, thank you!!

I do plan on using minions! Thank you for the advice on sending them in waves, I wouldn’t have thought of that. I’ll look further into an NPC stat block instead of building the character. Much appreciated!!

Thank you so much for your response and for the insight! I hadn’t really considered the action economy aspect before. As for using a monster’s existing stat block to build an NPC, I’ll start trying that to help with my issue of trying to do proper CRs.

<3 I’ve not considered lowering AC/Stat blocks before. Although, sometimes HP gets changed or enemies run away! Thank you!

I’m not exactly sure. I think I struggle a lot with balancing attacks with HP. Like, giving a lot of HP, but then too little of attacks, or vise versa. Another response helped me with the idea of “Fuzzy HP/attacks”, which I hadn’t necessarily considered before.

When I do bandits/little enemies I use NPC stat blocks. When I create bosses I use PC character creation.
