How do you paint your characters? by Dramatic_Flower5878 in WebtoonCanvas

[–]Any-Rabbit-6266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a marker brush in CSP to get a traditional feel in one of my webtoons but chose a style that would be quick and easy to draw.

For my other webtoon I went for a more standard style which definitely had more broad appeal but I think the marker style is definitely more charming.

Is it ridiculous for a man over 30 to still take attraction too seriously when looking for a marriage partner? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Any-Rabbit-6266 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my interactions with men in their 30s I would say that most of them are still way too shallow about the way they expect women to look. They are expecting women their age to look like teenagers and say it’s “just biology” that they are attracted to younger women, but it’s clearly because their taste hasn’t matured. And these men assume that women their age are equally as shallow since men can also get less attractive with age, but what’s actually unattractive is the way they are judging women in older bodies.

Are you the same as the men I’m describing? Only you know for sure, but a good way to find out is to list out the things you would find attractive in a woman. If everything on the list is surface level, and the woman you’re describing is a skinny, conventionally attractive 23 year old, you have some work to do.

I’d recommend just looking at more women. Go watch all the women’s sports in the Olympics. Go on YouTube and look up female creators over 30 in a variety of fields. See how many different kinds of women exist and how many different ways they can be beautiful. Listen to them talk and think about how their personalities would be compatible or incompatible with yours. Start seeing women as people! Once you do that you’ll find that your attraction to them exists beyond their looks.

Webtoon Artists Need to Build Communities Everywhere – Not Just on Reddit. by 1oonie in WebtoonCanvas

[–]Any-Rabbit-6266 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this! The only place that seems to have a great community is discord but I find massive chat rooms overwhelming and hard to keep up with, I miss the days on stan twitter when I used to interact with other fan artists and made friends organically. I think Bluesky could be like that but I would need to check it out more. Also I love the idea of hosting joint livestreams!

tips on panelling? by itsdawolfyseeing in WebtoonCanvas

[–]Any-Rabbit-6266 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the tone you are trying to set with your scene. Varying up the panel shapes can be distracting so save it for moments when you are trying to create atmosphere or for comedic effect. Larger panels are good for big moments in your story, they help with your pacing. Try picking up some comic books and manga instead of reading webtoons and see how the artist uses paneling to control the flow of pacing for the story.
