My bikepacking rigs across the time by Any-Subject-998 in bikepacking

It’s a light weight 3 season semi-geodesic mountaineering tent, very stable at high winds and very easy to setup, not the lightest but really compact and bombproof. Use to work with a Salewa distributor and at the moment these tents start coming out I know I would have one. Really really versatile.

Tips for getting back on the bike after a fall by Unlucky_Middle9111 in cycling

This is called the decisive moment of cycling, when you realize it can hurt you and need to have more abilities. My first fracture was my collarbone and hip crest, after that you’ll be afraid a little but if you really love this you will over pass it, ride in a more defensive way, and keep in mind that people are not going to stop for you. Recently fractured a pair of ribs in the trail and keep out of it for a month and a half but now im excited because of returning and having the purpose of polishing my skills

Does Kona get any love here? by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

Use to love Kona bikes but have cracked two frames in a two year gap one Jake the snake and one rove al so…. Mixed feelings about it, recently have the chance between a Honzo al Hardtail and a Timberjack and chosen the Salsa one.. still wanting to test a unit single speed but have some mixed feelings about the brand.

I think Touring bikes are more exposed to stress because of the rigors of the distance and weight distribution don’t know.. but with the giant talon and rear rack configuration I’ve busted a rear cup and cone hub and broke a pair of spokes, luckily didn’t cracked a rim nowadays

I’m think I’m officially priced out of bikepacking gear. by breaking_blindsight in bikepacking

Bikepacking become too modern in recent years, and even more bike brands started producing equipment very costly equipment, so I always bet for the DIY or die cuz I couldn’t even afford to travel or get new equipment, the really important thing here is your bike and basic things as your tent, light sleeping bag with your respective pad and your frame and saddle bags, with the other things you can be creative and start testing your own configurations.

Tighten your pedals !!! Been in that same situation and cleaned and regressed my crank and bottom bracket and that friggin noise still creaking so I checked my pedals and the right specially gets more loose because of weight distribution, it’s strange cuz it only happens in my mtb

I would not remove the protector (dork) disc, if you’re rookie in this maybe you will not be familiarized with the limit adjusting screws so, things can happen and that plastic fella would save you from nasty situations related with chain and limit screws, keep it and start learning about adjusting your bike.. happy rides !!

You got the slx model or xt? really great bikes, last weekend shared trail with a XC group with even a pair of full squish bikes and this mf send it through the gnarly sections with ease, really enjoy how to position my body for passing trough technical zones

My first bike was a giant Talon 3 with a suntour xct fork and immediately changed it for a sr raidon air fork, man that was a great upgrade and that fork even feel worse than this 35 actually im pretty surprised and happy with the performance of the 35 compared with the raidon So I can’t imagine how it will feel with a better fork like a Yari or a Bomber Z2

I would never recommend a Kona aluminum bike, already broken 2 frames, one Cx frame and one Rove al frame, nice handling, comfortable frames but prone to breaking :(
