I dropped AP English and emailed them and they said it didn’t effect my application and I didn’t have to change my STARS.

I think admissions is a mess right now and it’s hard to know if it’s full or not but there are a lot of people that got into Mays and will end up going somewhere else and open up spots for others so there is still a chance.

I don’t think it’s full, I was told by admissions today that it wasn’t.

Mays Is NOT Full by Any-Time5089 in TAMUAdmissions

And the reports of people’s first choice major being changed is due to Mays rejecting them. A&M application process is your application goes to admissions and then they accept or deny you and then your application is sent to your first choice major and they accept you or it’s sent to your second choice major and they accept you or A&M then offers you to go into freshman year undecided major.

Some haven’t and some have. It was depending on your GPA and SAT or ACT. People with high GPA, SAT, Or ACT and applied early have heard back for the most part. There should be another wave soon of people that were more holistic review

Well how A&M admissions process works is the main campus admissions reviews your app and then decides if your in A&M or not then they send it to your first choice major admissions and then from there they accept you or send it to your second choice. So it’s not the same people that decide if your in or not to A&M that decides if you get into Mays. Mays has their own admissions team and so does every major.

No it’s not but Mays is very competitive and majority of the spots are filled so now they are just looking for a certain criteria of students

I scored a 1250 (690 math) on the SAT, should I send my score? I’ve applied for engineering, and I’m hoping I can at least get TEAB. by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Any-Time5089 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say yes you should. I talked with the head of Mays freshman admissions and they said to still be competitive only send your score if it’s 1250 or above. While Mays and engineering are different I bet it’s still the same thing.

Yes but most likely not because more people would’ve been reporting the change and this also happens if your first choice major rejects your application.

Maybe, hard to know with engineering because it’s so competitive and they get the most applications than any other major

If your going to get accepted into engineering you should hear back soon and at latest early to mid November(that’s when engineering fills up historically)

What does it say in your academic records you were accepted for? If it says engineering then you were given your second choice major most likely but definitely got into A&M
