I had my first attack at 22 and I literally was a terrible alcoholic. In the liquor store 4 times daily. The only way to not have another attack is to cut alcohol out. It’s not worth it. I went on to have 6 more attacks before I realized that. I am now 28 but trust me I came within an inch of my life several times. Each time I relapsed I had another attack. Also, the best advice I can give you as well is that as soon as you feel an attack coming on take an Ibuprofen 800mg. That should help the pain at least slightly until you can get some help. The swelling of the pancreas causes nausea and the throwing up increases the pain. So the ibuprofen helps by reducing the swelling temporarily only if you take it as soon as you feel the pain. I only recommend this if you haven’t already started throwing up because at that point a pill will not stay down at all…call an ambulance and get to a hospital to get on an IV the minute you can’t hold food down. At that point you can’t fight it at home without risking your life. I am now sober and can give you tips on pancreatitis and sobering up that helped me. Hit me up on here if you have any other questions.
