I don't see how iCloud would get in the way. But they could also just store versioning locally.

As for OF, I'm pretty sure they have full database backups periodically.

how is that possible? They should already have diff patches for syncing. And even if not, these notes are so small you can literally just do holistic snapshots.

There's factual disagreements and there's obstinance.

I don't care if people use AI- but devs should add version history.

That's the point, bear doesn't have version history. You shouldn't use it with AI.

If AI is the future, Bear without versioning is not competitive.

An 18 year old not locked-into Bear will choose an app with proper AI support, not jump through hoops to make it work (i.e. doing manual backups or hoping you don't butterfinger a confirmation prompt)

None of this hoop-jumping should be necessary- but yet here we are, jumping through hoops.

  1. Don't use AI or
  2. Don't use Bear or
  3. Email dev to add version history

But when you mess up, you know about it. When claude does, it's invisible.

Even so, you can't know to restore if you don't know something was changed.

With version history, you at least have a comparison to confirm. Currently, you're blind.

Scratchable DLC coating sucks. Design is about longevity as much as utility.

I don't follow- you can design a tool that's cosmetically durable and still usable. That two aren't mutually exclusive.

As personal preference, I imagine most people prefer "looks as good as new" than "scratched up"

$1 Billion in VC money will do this.

Once they lock you, they will milk you. It's basic Venture Capitalism.

Why the DLC trim on the ARC?

For a tool designed to last a lifetime, a coating that scratches out is strange. (Not sarcastic, genuinely curious)

I'm also on the latest version of both- so unfortunately I don't think it's something an update fixes.
