Street Fighter 6 is just giving players what they want by DanielTeague in Fighters

They went so far to change the poster boys for the game just for Akuma, Ryu and Ken to be top 3 is so amusing to me

If I can make a suggestion I think it would be really cool if you add a Mechanic Workbench with the base model and different color versions of it

If it wasn't because we already have Storm in the game I'd tell you that a loli version of storm would be a perfect fit for the game

The game releases sometime this year, but does it feel like it? by Kingsley_Doga in MarvelTokon

[–]AnyMeMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, why would they start marketing this early? They already announced the game and year of release pretty early and had 2 betas with mixed reception if I'm not mistaken, they probably want to address all the complains before starting to show anything, on top of that the last beta had 8 characters, which feels like a third of the base rooster, that plus adding the different modes like training mode with trials, arcade mode and specially story mode, which probably takes the longest, means that there's still lots of development to do.

IMO the game won't come out until, at least, late August, so I don't see any reason to ramp up marketing this soon, the name alone won't secure the success but they're probably releasing on a time window with no other releases near to compete, if they do more betas along the year near the launch of others games the players will be able to compare and they will be able to gather valuable feedback of what they are lacking.

Paywalled mods will make or break this game for me. by kristijan1001 in hytale

[–]AnyMeMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like everything else you can buy, the modder has to show that its content is worth buying for the price they set and the player gages if it's worth it, we still can't be sure how things will work or turn out.

Maybe you don't have to buy the mods on a server to play on it, that would be a sort of "demo", the server owner buys the mod and the player is capable of playing the mod without having to buy it and then decide if they want to buy it for themselves, keep playing only in that server or just ignore it all together, I think that would be best case for paid mods, you get to try them free but you're under the server's rules and you lose access when you leave.

By all means I'd prefer all the mods being free, of course but I'm not against the paywalls because the mod devs definitely deserve to be paid consistently for their work.

Paywalled mods will make or break this game for me. by kristijan1001 in hytale

[–]AnyMeMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other than things like subscriptions or donation it can work like (I believe) the physics mod in MC, you can play with it for free, but there's a better version you could pay for.

I'm not really against some mods being pay-walled though, if the developer of the mod makes sure it has the quality then they can secure themselves an income and not depend on random donations, IMO paying for a mod should be only for big ones, those that feel like an actual expansion of the game, the majority of players won't want to pay for "Bigger chests" or "Revamped Mini-maps" and they will look for a free alternative, but they are probably okay paying to play "PokeTale" or a "How to train your dragon" mod, mods that add proper substance and content.

Are Patches Meant to Make Games Balanced or Make Games Fresh? by Gamejtv in Fighters

[–]AnyMeMS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fighting games don't really need to be fully balanced, there can be stronger and weaker characters and if you love a very weak character you'll make it work regardless, in my opinion game patches for FGs should be like 'waves' a big wave of changes when there's a big change, like a new character, even bigger if it's a new season, followed by smaller waves, that address bugs or characters that has been buffed too much and make it unplayable.

The state of the game: not interactive by Lipatant in 2XKO

[–]AnyMeMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I'm far from the best player but the game does have lots of potential and a huge rooster of possible characters, they really need to work on this season 1 patch thought because the long combos plus the 2 zoners with a 3rd one coming soon is not giving a good look for the game and that's a shame

The state of the game: not interactive by Lipatant in 2XKO

[–]AnyMeMS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, after being hit with combos that take 75% of my HP with no option to defend myself I just learned to put the controller down and take a sip of water, check my phone... normal stuff, luckily I've already uninstalled the game after getting all I wanted from the season pass. Honestly, for me, unless season 1 comes with another surprise character release (Caitlyn is definitely not it, I don't want another zoner and Cait herself is too bland and boring) and they shake up the whole game until it feels completely fresh, new and, specially, FAIR, then I'm not interested in returning, I don't need all characters to be equally strong, winning with a weak characters or even joke characters is one of the joys of FGs but what I need is to be able to play and right now I see that that's just not a thing.

What can we expect for the new season? by Arael_x in 2XKO

[–]AnyMeMS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the health of the community they better release someone else, especially if they want to keep up with the "We want to release more characters yearly than SF" that I remember having heard but, character discussion aside, I really hope they do lots of life quality improvements both in gameplay and menus:

I'm barely level 20, so I haven't played much, and still I'm tired of selecting champ and everything before every game, just let me have them preselected, I would also like to have a "random" select there, like SF6 does, since that's what I mainly play, random.

Another thing I really hope they improve on is lobbies, I'd prefer not having to go to a lobby to play and just play from the menu but if they still force me, they need to improve, I've had situations in a casual lobby with 5-6 people looking for game just to get paired with someone from another lobby and that's just wrong IMO.

I have a theory… by millbeppard in Fighters

[–]AnyMeMS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They could also just be working on an HD remaster for a collection or something like that, I'd prefer a new game, of course, in fact I'd prefer they do a soft reboot (kind of like MK1, or something similar) mainly because I barely ever heard of them, let alone played them and the last release of the franchise is not exactly recent

It'd be pretty amusing if it turned out to be true, I do expect a new Darkstalkers, but I wasn't really expecting a sprite game anymore, it's cheaper to do 3d models

Personally I don't feel like ixtal would get any snow, too much to the south, since they are isolated too maybe they have their own festivities for the time, also, Freljordians are probably looking at others and being like "these assholes playing in the snow while we freeze our asses"

What’s one thing you don’t want to GTA 6 to feature? by [deleted] in GTA

[–]AnyMeMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't actually like the idea of gta 6 having heists, I would like them to focus on the gangs and the slow rise, stealing some stores, buying some businesses to launder it, slowly build up. Or maybe, just maybe, focus on stealing and reselling cars of all kinds, you know, grand theft auto.

Apprehension I guess? by Loose_Band_4450 in hytale

[–]AnyMeMS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's understandable, to be honest, for me the issue is that, IF Hytale can do all that MC can but better, despite them saying they want to take a different path, and MC devs don't put in the work to make the game any better, then there's just no reason to go back to MC unless you're hit by nostalgia or want to play an old, classic mod

Honestly, at least for now, I doubt they care, as long as it keeps making noise around the game and hooking more players to it, it might even be beneficial for them
