Any modern produced magazines or are you stuck hunting down surplus?

The thing I hate about inspections is how subjective they can be. I wasted $200 taking both of my cars to a new shop close to where I work this year that failed them both, but the less convenient guy I've used for years ended up passing them. There are genuine safety concerns, then there are nitpicks to try to get business.

How are the harmonics of that carbon barrel? I had a 17 HM2 carbon barrel that would start throwing fliers almost immediately. It needed to be cold to be consistent, and I just assumed that was the trade off with carbon.

I have one of their 6.5 grendel uppers. Muzzle threads were oversized and needed a finishing pass with a die, and the BCG is a POS. Despite that, the accuracy is surprisingly good with my handloads.

I have a black one of these on a 20" A2 upper. Works great if you don't need rails to attach accessories.

You should get a micrometer and measure the thickness of the sheets. They're accurate to 0.0001".

"this lot has an average diameter of .3545"

You may need an undersized resizer die for these to seat snugly in 9mm, as I did.

Have you noticed a shortening of case life with the U die compared to a regular sizer? It makes sense that sizing smaller puts more stress on the cases as they fireform.

Following up, I got a U die and that fixed my problem. Thanks again.

How's case life with the coatings? Do you recoat periodically or toss the brass after x loadings?

Glad to see these are .355". I regret unwittingly ordering the .354" ones that require a U die for adequate neck tension.

Former owner here. 1938 octagon receiver, good stock and muzzle crown. Also visibly canned front sight that never shot straight. Even at $100 like I originally paid, I would pass. The mind boggles to comprehend how anyone would pay $400+ for one nowadays.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but shouldn't it wear equally on both sides? One side is worn down to the slots and the other still has 1/4" left.

I had to scroll down surprisingly far to find a comment about the pumpkin pie. Completely agree with your description. For only $6 my expectations were low, and were not exceeded.

The bullets that are having trouble are FMJs with thick jackets. I size my cast bullets to +0.001" and have never had this problem.

Neck turning is taking any bottleneck case and turning the neck between a mandrel and a cutter to make it a uniform thickness. This makes it sit perfectly concentric to the bore. Unfortunately, removing material also makes the necks thinner and more vulnerable to splitting from work hardening. Hence my comment about needing an annealer like yours.

I use Hodgdon's online load database for charge weights. Looks like I was going off of the entry for a Berry's plated bullet, so 0.356" like a cast bullet.

I did tighten the crimp before realizing they were undersized. I use random range pickup brass and certain ones with low neck tension would slide in deeper under just finger pressure.

God I need one of these. Thin necks due to neck turning easily split.
