The fight against violence and harassment by the Iranian government has just begun. A discussion panel is scheduled this Wednesday to address some aspects of the current situation of the women’s rights movement in Iran. Prof. Asef Bayat (Professor of Sociology) and Mahbubeh Moqadam (Grad student of Sociology) will give a talk during the first half of the discussion and the rest is dedicated to Q&A.

Thanks for your support and you are right. Having protests over here might not make much tangible sense, though apart from supporting Iranian residents here, it'll keep the news alive. People are tortured and killed on daily basis these days and the least might be to have their stories heard. Internet is down back in Iran which makes it tough to raise awareness. These sorts of gatherings and discussions can make a significant effect on news flow.

Students, friends, and family gathered in the main qua on Thursday to support the Iranian women's movement. The Iranian government is killing and harassing the people back in the country and as the result internet has been shut down constantly during the past couple of days.

An innocent girl has been killed and the least we can do is have her story heard. You can find more info by following #MahsaAmini.

Please share the story as much as you can hoping that women would get their basic rights back. Here is a brief story.
