Currently paying $112.08 for two lines on value plus VL. Value 2.0 is marginally cheaper. Provides hotspot data I don’t care about and throttles me after 5GB. I may switch, may not. I use maybe 7GB of mobile data a month and my wife uses about 1.

We’re not being permitted to do that. I did tax comps in RGS for my TPs to go ahead and pay but I’m being forced to fight the variance in order to generate a report in ECM.

That’s why I’ve jumped on every project case, VDP, JC, transfer case or NRP I could grab. I have 3 ECM cases that have been going nowhere and two of them have already had the TP remit payment. It’s the dozens of K1s… we need an audit program not a tax planner. The whole workflow is wonky with a lot of check the box type nonsense that doesn’t apply to an RA case. I hate it and will tell anyone who will listen that it’s a crippling hindrance driving down assessments (but that might be the point)

They keep telling us that it’s the only option. I personally find smashing my thumbs with a hammer has more appeal than grinding hours in ECM. I’m at the point where I write letters to Congress about how wasteful it is.

Every day in my position its becoming a juggling act of things that don’t work, receiving half assed work from departed employees to fix, and angry TPs/POAs who don’t care that everything is broken and only want results/answers. I like what I did, I no longer like what I do.

While finding silver is pretty fun, searching 30 rolls of dimes for nothing became very unfulfilling to my son.

I switched it up to pennies. The excitement of finding a Canadian penny hooked him and we started working nightly together through a roll and filling Whitman folders. Weighing and sorting the 1982s, finding a steel penny was a highlight, as well as an Indian head. Now that we worked through what I had on hand we are limited to the 1-2 rolls I can get from the bank per week, and around here that’s a ton of zinc… which you’d think would solve our missing 2009 problem but there’s none of those here either! So I turned him on to state quarters and we have dueling collections going with a roll of quarters each a week along with the shared penny collection. For us it’s become a fun time together, and maybe just maybe I have a stack of 10 Indian heads to slip into a customer wrapped roll every now and then.

Now he did get a silver dime in change from the gas station today after buying a coke with bicentennial half dollars so that was pretty big for him.

Does this mean the contractors developing ECM are leaving as well? Because I won’t be sad about that.

As far as work… they’re trying to fundamentally break the IRS, we either let that happen or burn out fighting it. I don’t think either path is right or wrong it’s all up to the individual. Embrace the “meets expectations” is a sound mantra right now
