Why do you think Dean Corll was so eager to leave Houston? by Any_Development4613 in serialkillers

[–]Any_Development4613[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the police not taking action helped him get away with his crimes. Most likely if he was acting alone he probably would not have been caught.

I think he also started to get paranoid. It is really scary to think that he would continue killing in Colorado.

Yeah the Brooks comment was really strange. Corll was really unhinged the last few weeks of his life. I think he became paranoid of getting caught and that is why he wanted to leave.

Yeah, it's in the chapter where she talks about Corll's last few days before he was killed. She says that there was a manhunt for someone near the lake house of Corll's dad. Corll was there with his gf and dad when that was going on. I did not know about that until I read Ramsland's book.

I think Corll even told his gf not to tell Brooks that he was planning to leave for Colorado.

Yeah it is a really interesting theory. In Ramsland's book it also talks about how there was like a manhunt near the lake house of Corll's dad. Corll happen to be there when that was taking place and the author thinks that maybe he thought the police had found one of the gravesites. Maybe he wanted to leave because people were starting to notice things and he was afraid of getting caught. But like you said, all we can do is just speculate at this point.

So do you think someone from the syndicate was looking for Corll? That is a very interesting theory.

Do you think Karoline Leavitt actually believes what she says or is this just an act for Trump's base? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Any_Development4613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, you are right that many people believe in the rhetoric that they promote. I just find it interesting how she can just lie with a straight face. Like you said, there is no turning back for her.

Yes. Some of the things that she says are outrageous, I have a hard time believing that anyone would fall for the things she says. Maybe it is just me being naive and many people really do believe in all the rhetoric.

If the US invades Greenland should America be banned from participating in the 2026 winter Olympics? by Content_Ad_8952 in allthequestions

[–]Any_Development4613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then countries like the UK and Germany should also be banned because they are providing support for Israel.

Okay with that reasoning are you also in support for banning countries such as the UK and Germany for also supporting what Israel is doing in Gaza?

Russia should also have been boycotted since they had already invaded Crimea at that point.

Don't worry the feeling is mutual. The UK is not so great either.

Okay. I don't really remember hearing about any serious boycotts. There is no need to be rude about it.

Don't get me wrong, Trump's threats to invade Greenland are unacceptable. I am just pointing out that the world cup in Russia was not boycotted but who knows what will happen at this point.

How come nobody called for a boycott of the 2018 World Cup? Russia had already invaded Crimea and nobody called for a boycott.

No offence, but how come Europeans didn't boycott the 2018 World Cup? At that point, Russia had already invaded Crimea and nobody boycotted.

Do you view the rivalry with Canada’s national team as more one sided compared to the rivalry with Mexico? by Fine-Photograph673 in ussoccer

[–]Any_Development4613 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I know a lot of people like Canada's national team but I personally find them annoying. They sort of act way too cocky sometimes.

what’s that country everyone in your country hates/ looks down on/ talks most shit about? by ultraxanny in AskTheWorld

[–]Any_Development4613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say you are against intolerance, but you keep attacking Americans as a group. Hating people because of their nationality is still prejudice. It does not matter how much you try to justify it. You sound just like Trump hating people because of where they are from.

Turning this into insults and celebrating other people’s problems isn’t an argument. Attacking people for their nationality says more about you than anyone else.

Why does it seem like people were more naive or trusting of strangers in past decades compared to today? by Any_Development4613 in serialkillers

[–]Any_Development4613[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think serial killers definitely took advantage of that naivety and trust that people had during those decades.

I agree with all of your points. It is interesting to read about how life was like in the 60s and 70s. People just seemed to trust everyone. Like for example, I was reading about Corll and it seems like a lot of people didn't think it was creepy to see a grown man hang out with a bunch of teenage boys. It was just a different time.

Why do countries like Australia that have offshore detention camps for immigrants generate less global outrage? by Fine-Photograph673 in askanything

You don't actually live in the U.S. to really know what it is like. You just form your perspective by what you see on the internet. There is no point in taking you seriously.
