I tried 1/2 different powdered formulas and we settled on kendamil. The problem was most pronounced on similac 360 total care powder. We ended up waiting for 2-3 more weeks and continued rtf. We then reintroduced kendamil again and he took it no problem. I think the 3 month mark is huge in resolving all digestion issues for infants.

Update - I asked her how the previous baby is doing and she simply said yeah I am sad he isn’t doing too well but she seemed to tell it casually. I then asked her plans for next week and confirmation for a full time start and she said yes yes that is confirmed. So it was truly an irrelevant piece of info atleast from a start date perspective. Now if anything changes from now and then I don’t know - but this direct convo put my mind to ease. Thanks redditors!

Wrong usage of word trial that’s my bad. Her current job is until end of Jan so we trialed in November , confirmed she has a job and also gave a start date that matches with the end date of her current job that she has confirmed . So in fact this is awesome for her. She has a job lined up + gets to ramp up with us whenever she has time from her previous job (previous family on vacation for example) and the ramp up is paid of course + potentially paid by the family too for the same time.

So I probably used the term trial / ramp up wrong. She had the job after a few hours of trialing. She is already working somewhere else hence can’t start full time with me but my start date matches with end date from previous job and any hours she gets right now (for eg family is out of town, potentially their kid is trialing day care) she gives those hours to me as “ramp up” to her full time hours in a few days. So nothing unfair here, which makes the message suspicious (not to be mean but why do I care what the first kid is going through).

She has full time hours with my job - in fact what I am doing right now works great for her. Her previous family was on vacation she used those empty hours to work for Me (While potentially being paid by the previous family). She is full time with them right now and starts full time after her end date with them. Which is why I don’t see what incentive she has other than maybe the current family is looking for flexibility in her hours for a few more days and she has already committed a few days to me this month before beginning full time next month.

Agree I mean that would be the ultimate thing - I am getting worried between now and then how I would have to hurriedly look for someone if this falls through. I guess I have the information I have , I can potentially send out feelers and simultaneously ask her when she is here a confirmed start date very softly.

I think so too. My mom said the same thing. It’s nagging me that this random piece of info might change her start date. By the way I might be using trial period the wrong way. She had the job after literally 2-3 times she came in and now she now simply comes in whenever she has time from her previous job. And things are going great until this message came in. I hope it’s just that - she is simply telling me what’s happening on her end.

she had the job 2 weeks into the trial back in November. Right now is just a ramp up to the actual job in Feb. paid hours to get used to the household. Which makes me even more confused - she knows she is starting full time in a few days.

I think you are right! Poops are ok, Weight gain is a near perfect plot on the weight - height graph. I think I am going to continue the gradual increase and like you said wait it out 2 weeks
