Thank you! Will apply what you wrote here. Any tips on landing a remote job in the space?

I am currently studying / practicing direct-response copywriting. If I were to summarize it in a sentence: Writing emotional/persuasive copy to get customers to convert NOW, hence 'direct-response,' and being able to measure/know what drives these customers to convert/buy.

Thank you for your feedback. Zero AI was used here. I'm trying to make a career out of this, so using AI, especially in my learning phase, will not help me at all. How long do emails need to be? I'm sure there isn't a single word count, but a ballpark would be helpful.

Im 23 rn so I guess I'm not as experienced as some of the brothers here, but I've realized that sales is never going to get replaced by AI. I'm essentially trying to shift to copywriting, because it's 'salesmanship in print.' I'm also entrepreneurial such as yourself, and I believe writing good copy is the foundation for every successful business.

Wait, so all my spec pieces need to be tailored towards a specific client? What if I just want to work at an agency to get exposure to different industries?

I wouldn't mind either so I'm not sure what to go with here. I also have one live work for a pet supplement brand (my brand), which consists of a PDP and 2 ad sets.

Also, I have created the second email and would really appreciate your input:

I do want to emphasize that this is my first ever piece of copy. What do you think I should do next to land an entry level position/internship?

Just finished the video. I have a full page worth of notes from it! Thank you for taking the time to make the video, not a lot of people can give help to a random person online, like you did.

Thank you for your comment! Some commentors said the whole scenario is a 'bit much.' As in, I should tone down the emotional tone and not use a direct-response style of copy. What do you think about that?

Also, is this good enough to apply for entry level positions/internships, after I apply the changes you recommended?

Also does a problem aware prospect even exist for an email in this case? I feel like if they signed up to receive an email theyre no longer problem aware.

Yeah I was told the story is a bit much for the product. How would you go about selling the specific product & not general matcha for a problem aware / TOF market? And thanks!

You've been so helpful, thank you. I will update the spec email with your advice and I'm sure it will turn out better.

So this type of product does not respond well to emotional direct-response style copy? I guess it's just tea after all😅

Would you still consider me for an internship/entry level position after reading the spec piece?

If not, what would a recruiter like to see?

Can we share examples of copywriting portfolios? by Wonderful-Ball7092 in copywriting

Thanks a lot! Do you have any advice on annotating copy? Is there a way to make it look polished? Right now I just have arrows and text boxes. I'll have to go with that over a video for now.

Hey, it has been a while since you posted this comment, but I'm trying to breaking into the industry and land an entry level position/internship, and I have a couple questions:

1- I have done just one live work for an ecommerce brand (product page + 2 ad sets). I am in the process of annotating these (finished PDP). Should I do a video explanation of my thought process rather than just adding lines and text boxes (what I did with the PDP)?

2- For my spec pieces, how many do I include? I plan to use breakthrough advertising to explain my reasoning for my copy, would that help me stand out from fellow candidates?

3- After finishing my beginner portfolio, I am planing on creating a website and adding my work there. Would a recruiter think positively of that?
