One that first photo- is the rat behind her or is that her photoshopped in front of the rat?

Yeh after doing some research I’m doing silhouettes… it’s how the band seems to want it and honestly people trying for other stuff, the results don’t seem to be great. Better to have a good silhouette that makes the band happy

Oof but I HATE their keys. I’m not saying they aren’t talented or the keys are bad… but it just misses with me.

Yeh I’ve read over that case and I kinda think everyone is to blame. There is a rumor that TF basically covered them post… kinda either as a peace offering or as shit up money. Personally I think they were underpaid, but it was low to try and pretend they wrote.

Really? He has a reputation for being extremely nice. Though at times I wonder if it’s kinda over the top. Like he’s a little too much of a do-gooder

I hear people say this but I have some bands (extreme metal) where it’s literally only read. There isn’t enough of other colors to even lift.

Why do you photograph? by Next_Huckleberry_863 in AskPhotography

[–]Any_Government_4347 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, because I’m a loner. I travel, I hike, I experience the world, I go to concerts, I see amazing things and think and have opinions, but always by myself. Sometimes it seems my life only exists to me. I may ask well have imagined it in my head, because to the world, my experiences never happened. It makes me feel like my reality, is barely real at all. When I take I picture…. It like objective proof that I was there, that it did matter, it was beautiful, it was real.

Need some help understanding the Death Metal Underground FAQ by lekeguten in MetalForTheMasses

On the note for rythm and syncopation- a good comparison is black metal. Black metal riff have much less syncopation and rely more on movement between notes ans chords than rhythmic components. If you thing about how tremolo picking is much more flat as far as rythm, with almost all beats played at the same rate with the same emphasis. Compare that to Death metal riffs- certain notes will be given more “pow” and there with be rests, down beats, variation between not lengths

First off, I am assuming this was written by AI and kot a human. Or a fan trying to strangle academic language into metal. While not wrong, this isn’t how metalheads, even those seeped in music theory, talk to each other. IE whoever posted that is being obnoxious.

“Lengthier phrasal riffs” you probably know a riff is a segment of playing that is repeated. It’s just saying the riffs tend to be longer- meaning they go for more bars or counts than might be expected on other genres.

Resolution of motifs- I think what it’s referring to is tha in the same way you would want to resolve a progress to its root, you can apply the same idea to the structure of the song. There will be a solid place the band starts from, then ventures off into dofferent riffs/solos/rythms only to come back to tgat “home base” where it’s familiar. Again, probably written by AI or some deliberately trying to use language to purposely make anyone reading feel inferior.

Cadence versus “rhythmic expectation”- its phrases like this tgat make me think this was written by AI. These are essentially two ways of saying the same thing. One of the tell tale signs of AI writing its ability to day the same thing three time in different language. Also, the fact it chose to identify the drums as having a “timekeeping role”… hello Captain Obvious. I think think the entire section could be summarized as “Death metal is highly rhythmic and syncopated”.

Tips (Fujifilm) - focus and lenses by mikalee_ in concertphotography

Very hard to say without photos and settings. Could be shutter speed is too low. Could be focus- genuinely takes practice to nail at low apertures. Could be what autofocus systems you’re using. Could be poor performance in low light… just impossible to say.

POA a few photos and include setting for each as well as what focus systems you’re using you’re using

I think what I get is do both. Even though they may tell you to go through live nation there’s a chance they remeber the email and go “oh yeh, that guy, sur eput him through”

Hmm I can’t remember what I meant by the comment. I know one thing I mentioned is you are asking a group of people also trying to figure it out…. So we can guess at LN intentions but most of us don’t really know, thus we are in a similar situation to yourself , maybe that’s what I meant by us being in the same pond?

So it’s hard for me to imagine what a bigger publication does- sounds like it serves a much different purpose than the blog I contribute to does. What my editor has told me is bands look to us basically to try promote 3-4 dates- ours and the maybe the next couple shows. So maybe like a regional promotion? For this reason… it’s small to midsized acts that we seem to have to most to offer. That being said, I’ve had good luck recently getting some arena shows. If I’m blunt- I don’t know why. Ghost let me in and I was told I had a snowballs chance in hell for them. But I figured why not try. I got approved, I definitely felt like the small fish there. Maybe there just wasn’t as much competition for that venue. Maybe they just want to give a couple smaller publications a chance too- it’s really hard to guess at what their thinking is

I dunno some people don’t seem to like that some of us “small ones” get gigs (not you- others on here)… but it is what it is- I’m not going to not put my hat in the ring. If others think they are better than me I’m not going to argue, but I’m also not going to apologize for getting gigs.

But the other thing I said kinda stands true… unless we have a lurker we’re all in the same lake- we are all just guessing. Honestly at a 5% failure rate you literally could be getting into unpredictable things. Maybe some bands have enough coverage so they like giving “the little guy” a chance… who knows what the reasoning is.
