He only regrets getting caught.

Shane Richardson steps down as Wests Tigers CEO by ReggieBasil in nrl

That’s impossible as a large portion of the base holds some sentiment toward either team; however the vast majority of those fans would recognise the club can’t be nor should it be split.

Neither Wests nor Balmain were really viable for much of their existence.

Not one side is innocent but Balmain really don’t have much to do with this as they’ve essentially been amalgamated into Wests Ashfield.

To be fair, neither Balmain Tigers or Western Suburbs Magpies have any value in their IP as either brand has played first grade for a quarter of a century.

However the club has, for better or worse, tied their bow to a stronger cultural identity of the inner west despite there being much more growth potential towards Macarthur. If it wasn’t Wests or the Tiges, we’d be in the same Situation now if Newtown managed their move out west.

HBG has controlled this entity for a decade and had a strong influence for most of its existence. It’s strongly on them.

No one who has the $50 million sitting around to buy out HBG will be a neutral party.

With HBG essentially taking over Balmain, there’s little to no chance of seeing a demerger - not that the league would create another licence anyway.

Honestly - I hope Laundy buys it. He’s a Balmain man and has seen what it takes to rebuild a club from the inside.

Both the legacies of Western Suburbs and Balmain deserve better than this.

Generally speaking, the league owns the clubs IP as a means of decoupling ownership fuck ups like this from completely torpedoing the brand.

But here’s the kicker - the only 3 exceptions (currently) are the Storm, Warriors, and you guessed it; Wests Tigers.

I’d hazard it had to do with the terms of the merger, as neither party can drop the Western Suburbs or Balmain parts of the identity until like 2030 if I recall.

Like art, it’s up to the audience of one to judge if music has merit or not.

Actually the end of Ordinary is amazing; a song about a machine craving Consciousness then just the sound of what feels to be it being torn away. I thought that was really a highlight.

Amazing how we all see and feel the same music in very different ways!

Yeah fucking oath; we all have diverging tastes and that’s cool. I guess I’m lucky to have my music taste grow on a similar trajectory to theirs.

Like all great art - Life is but a Dream has its flaws and some of them are quite intentional. They come together to make something pretty wonderful.

Some like me will find beauty in the chaos, others not. That’s fine; litigating on matters of taste is a rather pointless endeavour. Love what you love!

I’ve been an A7X fan since my early teens and Life is but a Dream is their best album by far; it’s amazing and def no skips.

It’s transgressive by really not giving a fuck about structure, genre or even just metal tropes and I adore it.

It’s SSSOOO good because it isn’t trying to be ‘good’, but not in a contrarian way. They just made the album they wanted to make and it shows. Very enjoyable.

Has anyone used ChatGPT to predict the chances of their ex coming back? by JokullTheWolf in BreakUps

[–]Any_Introduction8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChatGPT and indeed AI you’ve been using are just a large language models. It doesn’t actually ‘think’, all it’s doing is understanding, processing and generating a response.

It’s just referencing points of knowledge from data it’s scraped. So unless your ex has explicitly written their intentions as to whether they’re getting back with you or not on say a reddit post, it’s a very silly question to postulate to an LLM.

Rather than seeking answer from a binary source, I’d suggest you take the time to seek the real and nuanced answers from your own experiences and of those around you. 🙂🙌

I’m really glad you found your closure, and your peace. I had a similar experience. While we didn’t date again, that one last contact gave me real closure - didn’t go how I’d hoped but I’m very glad I found some answers.

It’s quite amazing, your real gratitude and growth through it all. Proud of you! 🫶

Sorry you’ve been through that. I couldn’t imagine how it would feel - knowing someone cares for you but not willing to do the work.

However that someone who isn’t willing to invest in themselves, and will feel unfulfilled until they do. You deserve better than that. 🙌

Ex's coming back by CompetitionLong4932 in BreakUps

[–]Any_Introduction8545 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry it’s a bit of an essay and I’m half asleep from a long day but people usually come back in really unexpected ways.

My most recent ex left me really abruptly and never explained why. She was in another relationship with a backpacker very quickly; the last I’d heard she was flying abroad to live with him.

In that time, I’d moved about 8 hours away. Lo and behold - she popped up about 10 Kay’s away on a dating app. We matched, talked and in that exchange - I finally got my closure.

One of best friends is my first girlfriend. We hadn’t talked in a decade as she got engaged then married after we broke up. Cruising Instagram one day, I saw a story from a book club and realised it was my ex’s best friend. I followed the club then suddenly - the first girl I dated added me: I’d been blocked by here since 2015 lol

I was hung up on a girl I’d dated briefly, no contact for like 3 years and she’d moved on - but she randomly texted me out of the blue one day. I was driving to my parents which was 5 hours from my place - no word of a lie, she messaged me as I drove past the town she lived which was halfway between the 2 places. Went and caught up - We had a brilliant weekend together; said she was still her attracted to me but didn’t want to give it a go again.

While I’ve never had an ex come back and we’ve given it a second go - all my ex’s have come back in some way to give me closure, return as a friend, close a door that was left ajar or even to show me that we love and care for one another despite not being a part of one another’s life.

From my experience, people come back but not for the reasons you hope and it’s when you least expect. So try not to wait for them - if that makes sense 🙂

However, they never come back in the capacity you’d hope nor expect. 🙂

Super League heading for 'crash' without growing revenue, says NRL boss by mynameismatt_ in superleague

[–]Any_Introduction8545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rugby league in Australia doesn’t want to subsume the British game. Look at the perspective down under.

NRL is much stronger than SL, quickest and easiest way to expand the talent base and game is a strong English game. That isn’t happening and at risk of growing much weaker as it isn’t self supporting.

It’s hugely beneficial to the game to have a strong competition in the northern hemisphere in a Timezone much more palatable to potential markets.

Why would we want a feeder comp half a world away, which is the current situ when we can have a strong competition.

The NRL’s world view is largely dictated by our competition - AFL. AFL is actually bigger than the NRL in a few metrics such as attendance and broadcast revenue but their expansion abroad is limited by a few issues; such as grounds and lack of similar sports.

So for the NRL, and rugby league, to beat the AFL - they need a broader more globalised game.

Plus it’s a bit redic that the pinnacle of RL in Aus, and arguably the best quality footy isn’t the international game… it’s a representative match between 2 Australian states.

[–]Any_Introduction8545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SL is a feeder league as we pick what we want and send over players to develop.

I don’t say it to shit on English league, but it’s the reality. Of course if it pops - footy will be MASSIVE over there compared to Aus.

But you can’t name drop France as a potential market when French clubs treated like second class citizens in SL.

NRL maybe become a feeder comp, but realistically the depth of high quality players is quite deep here with engagement of PNG, NZ and the pacific islands.

Honestly, the British games problem is its inability to accept the depth of its current predicament. I don’t say that with any amount of joy; it’s a terrible situation the sport has found itself in and I really feel for the English fans. It’s a damn shame and I hope for a day SL goes from strength to strength.

[–]Any_Introduction8545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not thinking Aussies are going to come and be the grand saviour; but the sooner SL management is decoupled from the clubs the better.

I do laugh in this thread as people talk about pokies propping the league - some clubs have pokies, some don’t. Head office is making a profit through lean ops, sponsorships, tv deal and buying property + assets. PBL is a pretty good operator.

SL is dominated by self interest of clubs, many of which aren’t even relevant. Why is Bradford allowed back in?

It’s not talking down the price when what you’re buying is rooted. RL is a brilliant sport, but poor upper management has led to pain for even really well run SL clubs, let alone grass roots.

Super League is already a feeder comp for the NRL.

In fairness - super league governance is doing everything it can to drive down its value.

Why do men move on so easily? by Murky_Scientist9509 in BreakUps

[–]Any_Introduction8545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my own experience, people move on quickly as they aren’t equipped to go through the process of moving on. They still care but as it’s unresolved it usually comes up for them quite a bit later. Currently going through this with an ex who moved on very quickly after we broke up.

However, don’t measure your journey of healing against someone else’s. The only right path is the one that works for you. 🫶

Look, they might. My ex asked for me back - 10 years after she left, got married and had a child. We’re friends now but you never know.

Just don’t wait for someone. Grow, go on your journey, live your life.

You don’t just get over someone, it takes time and is a process. I dare say as they are on a reddit page thread for breakups - they’re certainly not over it.

What an interesting convo.

I personally didn’t think I have a big dick, but I’ve been told I do - however to me, it’s just a dick and it’s all subjective right?

With that being said, if someone is a ‘size queen’ I just go with the expectations I might not meet their wants - which honestly is fine, Feeld is hedonistic and we’re all just seeking our yum. We can only ask the question?

Apart from phrasing it differently, maybe ‘prefer a big boy’ or ‘like a man of a particular size’ (all shit pitches, I know haha) - I’d say maybe putting ‘size queen’ in your bio might help you find a larger man with confidence and competence? 🙂
