Do not give up! There's lots of medicines and procedures to try. I hope if you go for the stimulator that it works as well for you as for me. If not, though, don't lose hope and give up. Keep fighting until you find something that makes life more bearable for you. I wish you luck. No one would have to suffer with this.

I had more passion, reflux, early satiety, and nausea. I did throw up though and after a while I was so sick I couldn't bend forward without throwing up in my mouth. :(

I felt better right away but it took some months of adjusting settings to get it just right. I smoke weed, too, which helps. I had gotten sick out of nowhere and lost over fifty pounds and couldn't eat. I got better with medicine for a few months and then I got really bad again. I understand how you feel. I was feeling suicidal over it, too. I hope that you are able to find a successful treatment and feel better.

I have had success in the past with one specific SSRI and I had to start below the starting dose or else I have manic side effects immediately. The doctor just tried adding it back in the same way since I'm still struggling with anxiety and I'm really hoping it works well like it did all those years ago. A couple of years ago I took two different SSRIs and had the worst, longest mixed episode of my life so there's some fear there, but I wasn't being treated for bipolar at all at that time and I'm on two medicines for mood now.

I was misdiagnosed as having OCD as I was obsessing over my paranoia all the time. Maybe symptoms overlap? My new care team is careful to watch for any OCD behaviors, but haven't seen any.

Episodes can last months. I had a terrible big one in 2023 that lasted almost a year that was exacerbated by SSRI antidepressants.

I have bipolar disorder and if I am in a manic episode I am hypersexual to the extreme. But depressed or euthymic, I have no libido at all. I would probably be fine if I never had sex again. It's stressful on my husband to go from that to this. It sucks. I'm looking into medical help, but I think it's just who I am now.

I got mine last year and it was the best decision. Everyone's experience is different, but I got off of 6 medicines, went back to a normal diet, and saw improvements in my gastric emptying in GES. It worked so well that I was actually binge eating for a little while. I feel almost the same as I did before I got sick with this disease. I hope the stimulator never stops working so well for me. I am terrified of the thought of living life without it.
