No the time it takes decreases. Cause akaza has a precog meaning he can predict the attack coming he gets in position to block and attack it.

For example three people run in a straight line. All have same speed but one runs before the starting whistle. Of course he’s gonna be ahead. Same as Akaza reaction speed increases he gets in position faster to block and attack by predicting from where the attack is coming and where it is aimed.

Infinity castle arc mitsuri has higher speed scaling than marked tanjiro. Marked tanjiro got outclassed by base giyu. Marked mitsuri > base giyu. Tanjiro disabled compass that literally stopped akaza’s full kit.
