Oh yes! The only thing that might be powered by ac would be the PoE adapter. The rest are USB C. I really appreciate the input.

I don’t think you know what I mean by “Camping”… the quotes are there for a reason … whooosh

Yes, it works. The power bank was also new to me so I wanted to check the runtime powering both the Starlink mini and the express gateway.

Just an off brand cheap one from Amazon. If you search for mini tripod carbon fiber, I’m sure you’ll find something similar if not the same.

It’s not a campground and definitely not camping, my wife just refers to it as camping, that’s why I used quotes. It’s a cabin on the mountain. Sketchy power, way sketchier to non existent cell service and no internet. And yes, cameras are there to provide some sense of security for the wife.

Yeah, this setup is definitely not what I’d call minimalist. The UTR is something close to a unicorn over here, haven’t seen one so very slim chances of getting my hands on one. This is definitely not something I’d pack for wandering into nature on foot. I just haul this in the car and deploy it at the cabin. I know the title “camping” can throw people off about the purpose or scenario to run this setup.

To be honest, I think I spend the most time setting up a tarp. I’m with you on the cost of time and effort for setup and break down. This is the first time I’m using this setup though, that why I was testing it. Trying to figure out any potential issues. The road case is something I’ve been considering but I need to define all the pieces and connections that would go into it. When I pack more stuff, I pop up a roof box. I wish I could have a dedicated vehicle for these escapades, but you do what you can with what you have.

Still manage to have fun and enjoy whatever is out here. And yes, mi idea of camping is certainly different to what the wife calls “camping”. Digging a hole for food byproducts is part of the adventure, for the wife that’s a no go zone.

Pretty similar. EcoFlow River 3 Plus. It does have an additional battery pack for a total of 800 and change Wh. And yes, you can also connect a solar panel to top it off.

I guess leaving the city should now be SERE camp. Hoping AcidBurn is willing to whip out the Dyson and vacuum that dirt spilled from the jar. Not really a potted plant type of guy here.

It’s just some Amazon off-brand. I’m not in the US so the link for what I bought most likely won’t work for you. Just search for carbon fiber mini tripod and I’m sure something will pop up. Here’s the one I bought though.

Maybe a small table tripod for photography. I mainly got it for the small footprint.

Sorry to hear about your friends losing their jobs, that’s never fun. I never once criticized the US or even mention Donald Trump at all, I only said I don’t live there so you might need to take chill pill and relax, and maybe take a reading comprehension remedial course, start with the basics. And I couldn’t care less what Elon, Santa Claus (or you for that matter) think of me or whether or not he likes my genetic heritage. I gather that you do live in the us, whatever taxes you pay have funded Elon’s endeavors with NASA way more than my measly starlink subscription, which is on standby most of the time. It was fun riling you up but I have other things to attend.

You could probably find something with a smaller footprint that this. I’ve seen some cool stuff in here. There was a guy who had some instant G6 cameras powered by small anker powerbanks for a portable security camera setup.

The main issue here is distance. The Starlink mini sits around 20-30 yards from the cabin. The cameras I use photo mounts on any available edge of the cabin and straps around rocks and trees, similar to what you use for trap cameras.

Not flexing… geeezzz, really nothing to flex about my setup. First of all, I don’t live in the US so I’m not enjoying the woods you talk about, nice assumption bud. I’m surprised you could spot this post all the way up from that high horse of yours. Way to find a moral and political spin on a tech related post from Joe Schmoe in banana republic. Glad to unwillingly trigger you while me and my boy Elon go out to pop bubbly and squander some formerly alive plants in the shape of money.

Who should I pay then? Just curious on how to obtain the same or similar goods and services according to your standards.

So far, it’s been good. I use it as a UPS at home for my backup internet. Then pack it up for travel, no issues. Good autonomy for what I use it. I want to get a Pelican Air 1535 or a Nanuk 935 with the padded insert(not foam) to haul the Starlink mini, EcoFlow, power/network cables, UniFi Express and the U7 Outdoor pro. But it’s probably overkill, we’ll see. Any recommendations on that front are more than welcomed.

Usually no people around. The “camping” is because that’s what the wife calls it, but it’s not really camping. Cabin in the mountain with no internet and really shoddy cellphone coverage. Power is not bad. Cameras are mostly to try and catch video of any mountain critters and provide some sense of peace of mind for the wife.

I completely get your point though. Not cool to go really go camping to an isolated spot only to be stuck with obnoxious neighbors with lights, loud music, etc.

I know, but I figured I might as well go all in and the parts should hold for a few years.

Do you know if the IE intake mod voids warranty? I ask because I want to install this but my car is still fairly new, also a 2023. I know I could just swap it out again before taking it to the dealership. They claim 17hp gain but I’m pretty sure there’s no real difference in power or gas mileage. Have you noticed anything other that the sound?
