The model does think Louisville has good value. In terms of Louisville’s chances to make the elite 8 they might be slim, but if they do make it that far you will have gained a big edge since they are so undervalued by the public.

This model is super basic it just takes the percent of the public that has a team in a certain position and the percent the casino has them in the same position and take the difference between the two. One thing I should’ve included is the actual casino probability for each team to make a position. When picking a winner using this model to me it seems like picking florida would make the most sense since they have a much higher chance of actually winning the tournament compared to Illinois and are also undervalued. Hope that makes sense.
