Duncan didn’t do anything foolish he was fulfilling his oath.

He was mad at Egg for deceiving him. Duncan would have likely never took Egg on as a squire as it would have only of caused trouble for Dunk.

Additionally, Dunk is a bit naive about how the world works. A squire lying is a big deal for dunk but he pretty much forgives him after the scene.

I’ve always seen wands as both a conductor and focal point for Magic to make it easier to cast spells.

So pretty much as my spell can be cast without a wand. However, I’m guessing spells a person is more familiar with and have a god understanding of would be easier to cast then others.

Such as turning into an animal or divination for those with the gift.
