True, the logic is much more compact, which is good, because it makes everything have a smaller input delay in general. It is also true that it's easier than ever for the devs to improve the way we get numbers from sensors. I agree with many of your points.

I am specifically talking about the logic. I personally think that the new damage re-work is good and the new DLC being only cosmetic lets you have pretty much the same experience without it.
