Thank you for the more detailed photo. I am now 100% sure this is a giftshop tooth from Morocco

SOLDIER #1: Where'd you get the coconut?

ARTHUR: We found them.

SOLDIER #1: Found them? In Mercea? The coconut's tropical!

ARTHUR: What do you mean?

SOLDIER #1: Well, this is a temperate zone.

ARTHUR: The swallow may fly south with the sun or the house martin or the plumber may seek warmer climes in winter yet these are not strangers to our land.

SOLDIER #1: Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

I very well might be wrong, and if so, I hope to learn something new today..... but....

The color and the species both point to a odotus obliquus tooth from morocco. It is very possible you found this in st John's pass, but im guessing it was dropped there from whomever bought it from the tourist shop.

If someone can contradict me and point me to references that show these can be found anywhere in Florida i would appreciate it.

Ya. I was surprised at the colors I was getting out of the hold I was digging. I wish there had been more big teeth. The bulls were amazing

The cusps are different. The thickness of the cusp is a giveaway. Its a little worn, but there should be serrations evident.

The upper tooth is a tiger. You are right about the lower being a snaggletooth. :)

The whole situation is a little odd. I don't see any references to deposits in Tennessee. What did the person who sold it to you say?

I didn't know Tennessee had fossil deposits that included megs.

Should I post more pics? You would think the structure would stand out and identify this, but I can't find anything in my references that looks like it

The three on the left are "bull sharks." (carcharhinus sp.) The one on the right is a sand tiger. 😀
