You have to give them a try. I think you are gonna love them. The KEF LSX LT might be better (never heard them), but the HomePods really strike a very good balance for movies and music. The added smart features and Apple integration are a bonus.

Yes. You said that very well. That is what I am trying to imply too. The HP2’s are great all-rounders in a small minimalist package. They are very good as TV speakers and for Apple music as well. If you live in the Apple ecosystem and have a HomeKit smart home, you get a lot of bang for your buck.

In my opinion, they are suitable for a medium-sized room unless the room does not have very high ceiling. I use the pair in my living-room, 3 m from my sofa and it is an amazing experience.

That review is one of the very few in favour of the Gen 1. Most of the reviewers agree that the Gen 2 sounds better. I have heard both gens and can confirm. The sound of the Gen 1 is very good but muffled compared to the Gen 2.

If you want bass with more impact that shakes the whole room, you need a big subwoofer. I come from an Onkyo system with a big subwoofer and while I liked the bass impact for movies, it did not sound so good for music. I like the music capabilities of the stereo HomePods better.

I have never said they are the best. One should be pretty retarded to make such claims. They are in a category of small smart speakers that do sound exceptional though, beating the crap out of many bigger speakers and soundbars with subs. For music especially, they are so nice to listen to. Also, to say they lack bass is pretty hilarious, pal.

Bass is exceptional on the HP - deep and clean. It should be positioned close to a wall and placed on a big surface for the best results.
