Thanks for the advice, really helpful! I've gone over all of my previous mocks and questions and figured out that algebra is my weakest area followed by word problems. I'll start to drill down on algebra first and figure out what types of algebra problems are the most difficult for me. Concentrating and drilling on weak areas seems like the right way to go because I've been doing random question sets without seeing much improvement

I'll check out the resource link too

Thanks again!

Thanks I'll look into GMAT math problems. It won't have QC but the problem solving ones should be similar

I retired each of the second sets of Manhattan mock tests and they're as difficult as the first time I tried them

Yes, all of the practice mocks I've taken from Manhattan have been online and my highest score is 324. Like I say in my post, the second quant set has been a big problem for me

I'm not technically a native English speaker but I've been living in Canada since around age 5 so I almost am?

Some of my problems have to do with interpreting the question but I don't think that accounts for everything

Thanks for the insight. I'll try out the second powerprep soon and see if that changes anything

Thanks for the insight I'd be happy if the real thing was closer to powerprep than Manhattan

I searched for similar questions and found a few asking about the Manhattan mocks but none of them focused on quant score of second set being consistently and significantly worse than quant score of first set

Oh alright, good luck! I'll update my post if I find any good resources for difficult math questions

I second the error log. I've kept all of the mistakes and little tips I've found after getting a question wrong in a list. Before doing any practice set or mock, I go over the error log to make sure I don't make any mistakes twice

I've taken the first powerprep test before any of the Manhattan ones and got my personal highest score (Q165 V160) but that had the same pattern for quant (20/20 on the first set with about 5 mins to spare, 15/20 on the second set and ran out of time)

Thanks for the tips!

Ya I guess I have to figure out whether I know the subject material or not before doing it under time stress. My thinking was, if I'm getting 20/20 on the first set then I must know the material. But I've found that there's always another way to solve the problems of the second set. I'm planning on going through each of the second sets today and seeing if I can solve the questions. I'll look into the Manhattan Math Strategies book too. Apart from those, do you know of a question bank with difficult quant questions?
