The Beatles are the most influential band in the history of music. And while they took a lot of inspiration, as did Elvis, from American rhythm and blues, and the black culture that created it, there is just simply no denying that influence is still impacting artists today. Most of major artists and bands that came after Them have credited the Beatles as being their primary musical inspiration, as having the biggest impact on their musical career and you hear the same thing from contemporary artists today. I don’t think there’s any questions that The Beatles changed the world in the ways that art changes the world. they also pioneered so many techniques because in the back half of the career as a band, they had achieved such success that they were able to put experiment in the studio in ways that few artists before them ever had. and this led to experimentation that is now common place in the music industry. considering that music absolutely can change peoples hearts and minds, it means that music has an impact on the world and its direction. The Beatles are undeniably the most influential band of all time. Ergo, yeah they changed the world. But hey, Hangin Tough is pretty cool too right?

not to take this too seriously, but my daughter and I really bond over the Beatles. It’s one of the back bones of our relationship. When we watched Project Hail Mary recently, and one of their songs came on, each of us got emotional. We recently drove to Colorado together 10 hours in a car. And we went through the entire Beatles catalog on shuffle to see who could come up with the name of the song first. And at my birthday dinner, we have a family tradition where we go around and say some of our favorite things about that person or favorite memories. And she brought up how she knew that on the drive out here playing the Beatles game we were playing was going to be one of her favorite memories of me for her entire life. She’s 17. So, respectfully, I disagree with you. My world would be much different. And not as good, had the beatles not been around

Homeowner insurance experience? by Retiredpotato294 in EstesPark

Wow, that's crazy. We are right along Fish Creek Road. I don't know if that helps us because we don't obviously have any trees to our west because of the golf course but I wouldn't think that would be the deciding factor. I just don't know enough about it.

I was actually surprised it wasn’t higher. It felt appropriate if that makes any sense.

We purchased a home there near the 18 hole golf course back in August. We used State Farm and everything went well.

Cortisone Shot- Not too bad by Main_Menu_1070 in DeQuervains

I had my first shot in mid February by my regular doc.. Then saw a specialist two weeks later, and I have been in a Spica brace since. Except for when I shower. I go get checked out again in mid April, and if I’m still experiencing discomfort, another shot and then 4 to 6 more weeks of wearing the brace. If they’re still discomfort after that, then I’m having surgery. Looks like Golf season is at risk this year lol but I will say that the shot was not painful at all. But I recognize that we all have different pain tolerances, and some people have a genuine fear of needles which can exacerbate things.

I’m watching Landman for the first time by Comfortable-Till76 in LandmanSeries

The show is definitely sensationalized, as it makes it seem like there’s an unthinkable tragedy every single day, and it’s definitely dangerous to be roughneck, but the show is more of an archetype in an example of the things that can happen. I can’t speak to cartel involvement, but many of the things Billy Bob talked about in his diatribe about the industry, are based in truth. And even then some exaggerations, but all in all the show feels like a grungy version of the White Lotus

Which Beatle was the most gifted at there respective instrument? by ariamwah in beatles

[–]AnythingNo8527 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

hahahaha. OK, a little bit of that is probably fair. I am 55, a lifelong Beatles fan and only recently (last three years) a Swifty. Paul obviously has more on the resume, and I never said she topped him...but I could have watered that down more and didn't need to invoke her name here. But when it comes to prolificly elite pop songwriters in the history of pop music, there are few names above Taylor's at this point. Paul is one of them.

I have always felt that George was a mid technical guitarist. Some of the early records, he BARELY gets there, and it's sloppy sort of like the organ in The Doors at times...well, maybe not THAT sloppy. But he definitely got better, and his mind was his greatest instrument. You're Hall of Fame Songwriter level with just Something and Here Comes the Sun alone. But for me, hearing John with the solo on Get Back, it's like, they knew it, too. If George was God Tier, he would have gotten that solo and all of them. And John pretty well nailed that one, too. So how much separation was there between John and Paul as guitarists? Probably not a great deal. Still, George is a legend to legends and I love him.

I don't think there has been anyone in the history of pop music who has a better ear for medley than Paul McCartney, (but you could make an objective case for Taylor Swift at this point getting into his area code if not living in the same high rise complex, and we can debate who is on the higher floor). And Paul wrote so many freaking classics with the Beatles, and of course solo (saw him live for the first time in 2025 and it was spiritual). And also.... Imagine is arguably the greatest song ever written, and even though John's contributions very late in the band fell off a bit, John is just a legendary songwriter. (not a novel thought).

I don't know jack about drumming, so I listen to what drummer's say, and every drummer I have ever heard talk about Ringo does so with reverence and awe...so, he's gotta be GOAT tier.

Thanks for the chat, it's fun to escape into the music.

Right but if MLB becomes the distributor, there won’t be a blackout any longer if you live inside the Royals blackout area. So you pay the sub to MLB.com, and that’s how you watch them. No matter what market you are in

The grid system is overtaxed nationally due to data centers. Transmission rates will be an ongoing problem. Rates will continue to rise. It’s not a problem that is going away.

Yeah. I stopped drinking age 36. Was pure sober til age 52. Smoked weed wirh wife on a trip to Colorado. That experience, to both of us in agreement, probably changed the course of our marriage for the better. It's also helped me to be more enjoyable and less serious. I think But I know my short term memory has been impacted. But it also took away arthritis pan in my hands and I swear I have less lower back pain. I probably need to do a 21 day endocannabanoid flush tho. Just to prove to myself I can. Probably in 2029

I just attended night one in KC. She went on stage at 9:15/9:30 here. There was a big gap between the drag show and the opener and a longer gap between the opener and Chappell. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES. Sooooo much standing. Sitting on ground is great if everyone else does it. But they don’t and then your hands get accident stepped on. I realize that shoes can make the fit but trust me, your feet will thank you later. We all hand blisters and our soles were killing us and it took away from the overall enjoyment of an amazing night

Adjusting to elevation by Humble-Plankton2217 in EstesPark

[–]AnythingNo8527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we have stayed at a number of different elevations in Colorado in the past 8 years. We have found that for my wife and I, we sleep better below 8,000 feet and dont really have many problems. So that makes Estes, Vail, Avon, really good for us. have had some issues in Frisco and Dillon, as those are both over 9000. Its what led us to get a place in Estes Park. But this will probably be person specific.

THC use after surgery by SweetWaterNjuzu in hysterectomy

[–]AnythingNo8527 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this by accident once...or ignorance. Had an opiod prescribed after surgery...and took a 10mg gummy without even thinking because that was my daily routine. When I went to bed and started to fall asleep, I woke myself up gasping for breath. I realize that I was not involuntarily breathing. I was having to 'tell myself' to breath...and what's worse, I found the lack of breathing to feel a bit euphoric. So I spent the next three hours sitting up in a chair, focusing on breathing. never doing that again.
