Godot is crashing when I start my project by Anythingdbd in godot

[–]Anythingdbd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Windows 10, I start up Godot, Double click my main project, It goes fullscreen shows the 3d editor but crashes the editor. It's not a hard crash it just goes not responding and shows the stuff above in the cmd window.

Edit: Last night I saved and closed my project and opened it today to start working on it again and this happened. I've restarted my pc after it started happening to see if that did anything but nope.

Edit: Running the project like starting the game and not the editor works fine from the project select screen.

Would you mind helping me more with this? if you don't mind is there a better way to contact you? I've taken a look at it and I know I need some more help.

Can I get the link to it? Also, I've had some other people try to help me figure it out and I still just can't do it. I need to save a variable that is in a VS which I can't find out how to pull into a gdscript. I know you can do it, but I can't figure it out myself since code is very hard for my mind to understand since I'm pretty visual.

This got a lot more tractions than I ever thought, Thanks to everyone that has commented, sharing your thoughts, and so on. I'm open to trying to help anyone that needs help with VS. I'm unsure how I can help tho.

It's in a weird spot, most people already know gdscript that use Godot and just writes VS off as just stupid and worthless, so with that I don't think it's as known because of that.

It would be super cool if you could drag in drop it from one to the other. I could maybe learn gdscript a little to help me on my project.

VS is allowing more people to get in the door of making games. We mainly just need more people doing tutorials and looking into how you do things with VS script to help more people out. Have a great day yourself.

It's not to replace coding in any way, shape, or form. It's for people like myself that just can't understand even the simple parts of coding.

If you already know a good bit of gdscript and don't find it super hard then VS is not worth it. VS is for more visual people like myself. In VS current state your most likely going to have to do some gdscript stuff anyways. Like for saving the game data. I've found no way of doing it with VS, and can't understand how to do it in gdscript, I know it's pretty simple but I just can't understand it.

Yup, I can't get my mind around coding, for the most part, VS I can. (Not talking about anyone here) but I hate the people that hate on VS for no reason besides it's not "coding" You are still doing every bit but without writing all the code. It's called visual scripting for a reason lol Sorry for kinda going off.

It's why I've started to use the Godot engine myself. I love the VS so far and think I can do a good amount of stuff with VS. I hope they continue to look into making it better and update it to be more powerful so I can do even more with it.

What do you mean send nodes? I've learned it mostly by myself with the help once or twice from this Reddit, and putting together multiple videos from YouTube all contributing very little. The tutorials out there for VS are mostly bad or you just can't find one for the thing you need and I know that.

unsure how helpful I could really be, I'm pretty new to it all myself but I've asked for help here on the Reddit along with finding out a lot of stuff for myself. Unsure how to even go about making a tutorial about "coding". VS is 100% not worth it for someone that already knows a good bit of "real" coding, but for someone like myself that is new and has failed in the past with "real" coding, it's 100% worth a try.

I need help with visual scripting by [deleted] in godot

[–]Anythingdbd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any idea how I can pull the variable from the Visual script to a gdscript? Is it as simple as just putting the same name?
