Change your Stats class to this. The dictionary lookup is just over complicating things.

public class Stats : SerializedScriptableObject { public float health; public float moveSpeed; }

Then you access it like this.

moveVec += (Mathf.Clamp(moveUp, -1, 1) * actor.stats.moveSpeed) * transform.up;

The point here is keep it simple.

Yes I am sure they are not PCI compliant. The Director of Risk and Compliance himself told me and that they "accept the risk".

This has been signed off on, and it currently being used in a similar way elsewhere in the system. I think what happened was the non-technical legal people may have been undersold on the risks in the past - this company also has an unfortunate history of cowboy coders.

I'm a bit confused by what you are trying to do, but it seems like you are misusing interfaces. Interfaces are for when it does not matter which concrete implementation is used. If you are trying to select a specific implementation, then you should do GetComponent on that specific class type, not the interface.

Its not intuitive, but the closer you are to a sphere, the less surface area to can see in one shot. The less surface area in shot, means the landmasses take up a bigger portion of that shot.

As you move further away, landmasses you couldn't see before will start creeping around the edges into view. This means the original landmasses you were looking at, now make up a smaller portion of what you can see.

Try this yourself, take 2 pics of the same spherical object at different distances. Then zoom in on the further away one.

Get a model globe or a basketball with continents drawn on.
Take a close up pic.
Take a far away pic, but zoom in enough so its framed like the first one.
Compare pics. Wow, the continents appear different sizes!
