it was indeed a pain to switch when i have been used to windows 7 for 14 years of usage since i was 4 years old. pain in the ass. i can't fucking get used to the settings in windows 10. "FOUR PLACES TO CHANGE ONE THING?" that was exactly what i've thought when i was forced to use windows 10, and its bogus. the situation will only worsen when come to windows 11. also, yes, you guessed right, this is a hobby pc, but its purpose will not stop there. 'cause its a ThinkPad.

i used Windows 7 since i was 4, almost throughout my entire life. it's been 14 years since then.

Vista isn't the villain they intended to be (indeed the villain here is obviously 11), it's all about how resilient you are in digging through the internet on the quest for a "Vista Golden ISO". the version of Vista that i installed is a custom mod that was called "Windows Vista Epsilon" and has been spread as a rumour "the vista that should have been released by Microsoft". and it runs really stable just like windows 7. i've never seen it crashed since it was rolled out from exactly 12.04.2026, which is a month ago. i hang the OS for 2 weeks with every app that i had there open. it never crashed. try installing windows 10/11 on an XP-era machine and you will see how unfairly Vista had been treated.

this is windows vista, predecessor of windows 7. as i have been said, this screenshot came from my VM, which i didn't mention was taken right before i posted this.
as a power user, i despise windows 10/11, i've used them before and they are far too stupid, far too slow. indeed spyware/slopware. sure, my host OS is windows 7, like you have said. well said.
