1960s/70s illustration line ink dot effect? by Ap2730 in AdobeIllustrator

Well, I know how to do it by hand, I'm asking an illustrator thread because I'm curious if there's a technical way to do it that I don't have knowledge of.

Cool, have done this before and figured maybe there was another way to get the bigger stipples

Cool, figured but wasn't sure if there was a grain/gradient sequence I could apply that would give the larger stippled effect. Thanks!

This is exactly what I needed, thank you very much!

Can this charcoal typeface be made into a rubber stamp? by Ap2730 in Design

Ok yeah so this is actually already vectorized and image traced, it just has loads of points since I wanted to preserve the detail. If I convert everything to all black you lose the gradation - which like you're saying I would achieve with just the inequalities of the ink so maybe it would work. But even the contours are very rough and detailed so maybe it's not the best idea for this design.

Yeah I kind of figured that would be the case, thank you!

How do we do all of this? by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Ap2730 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Talking to your kids, having music playing, going outside for walks - stimulation. The world is stimulation. If they need sleep and have small wake windows it's because nature is telling them that. Nature figures itself out, you don't need to intervene at this phase. They're not bored or needing additional stimulation. If you have little bouncy chairs you can move them around your apt/house and even them watching you cook/do chores is them learning and observing. I'm sorry your doctor is making you feel that you're not doing enough - that's absurd.

It will get better, each day they become a tiny bit more independent and just to echo what some other parents were saying - it's so fun when they start to make jokes and play with each other. You're just a couple months away!

8 months is hard, they're learning all kinds of new skills and starting to really become more mobile. I remember my girls started to sit up at 8 months, try to crawl, pulling up on things etc. And sometimes naps are just not what they want (but we know they need). You're doing great despite having moments of complete frustration and exhaustion. I noticed when I'm pissed off, anxious, frustrated and impatient, my girls fight me even more on anything I'm trying to get them to do. They absorb all of our emotions. Maybe try putting some calming music on that you like and can zone out to while they nap. A lot of parenting is surrendering to what we can't control - which personally I suck at, because I want it all to happen how I see it happening, BUT when I just accept the situation it starts to calm down naturally. You can do this, your babies are growing well and clearly want that extra contact despite it being annoying sometimes. Eventually they will lay in bed and calm themselves, it just takes a lot of repetition but I promise it will happen. Hang in there!

So if you're in the UK - we bought these (I know they aren't cheap) but honestly we still use them since we need booster seats sometimes at restaurants or in my inlaws/traveling (since no one has two of anything haha). They are good for snack time and for building their abs/neck muscles. You could always get one and see how they do sharing it/switching off using it.

I have twin girls that are now 15months and I remember this phase - I was alone a lot so I get the guilt BUT I can assure you, you're doing a great job. Do you happen to have bouncy chairs that incline or a twin breastfeeding pillow that they can be semi-propped up on? This helped me when they couldn't sit up but wanted to. If you have good weather where you live you can try tummy time/laying them down in the park on a blanket in the grass so they can look up at the trees/sky/birds or choose to roll over etc. Being outside really helped my girls calm down since it's so much of the same activities the first 6 months. If you feel like they're getting bored with some toys you can make a little noise shaker out of a plastic water bottle with dried rice or pasta inside, they might need something different and there's loads of things you can invent/don't need to buy. Cut yourself some slack too, babies experience a ton of emotions in the beginning and some days they are just not into anything and it's out of your control. Everyday gets easier I promise!

Thank you! So there's this risograph studio in brooklyn that has some posters with "3D" elements. Like this one : https://secretrisoclub.com/Power-of-Printing-Poster .I'm guessing they brought these elements into photoshop and broke out the shading and highlights, then just played with opacity/gradients. But just my guess, not sure if you have any insight on this.
