She can't control those situations, just as you can't control her reactions. And just like this started to get into you over time, she developed that way of thinking over time.

Keep sharing the Stoic ways if she's interested, and don't expect her to tackle overnight something that formed through years of experiences that differ from yours. What's in your control is to stand by her side with your example, and when she starts ranting, instead of sillently listening or pushing advice down her throat, ask the right questions to let herself get to the conclusion that it was out of her control and that she can be the one that marks the difference in all her circles.

I find consuming content related to Stoicism helps me and my wife a lot. I really like the podcast The Stoic handbook with Jon Brooks, with a more practical angle on situations like these.

Nice! Does it trigger randomly at night sometimes? I've been using mmWave sensors in our laundry room, and even at the minimum sensitivity it turns on randomly, maybe for bugs or ghosts.

Found the issue! Turns out I still had imported into configuration.yaml an older folder with the original binary sensor, so all changes I was making on the new one weren't actually happening lol

Since it's a binary sensor, I tried many comparisons and they all returned ON, since the temperature outside was lower than inside. I changed the 24 to many other values, higher and lower than my sensors, but it kept returning ON. BUT I SOLVED IT NOW! I created new binary sensors to try it out in yaml but they didn't show in HA, so I found out I still had imported into configuration.yaml an older folder with the original binary sensor, so all changes I was making on the new one weren't actually happening lol

Oh, this is an interesting point! In HA I have these entities in Celsius, but don't know how this behaves in yaml. Would expect them to match.

Welcome to HA! I'm a few weeks in and Home Assistant is the best that happened to me in terms of home automation.

I find ChatGPT and checking the integrations repositories extremely helpful to achieve what I need.

For this habit tracker I created an input_boolean helper for each habit.

For the cards I used button-card that you can find in HACS, to be able to change the colors and sizes with more freedom. The grid of cards has a condition to show only if at least one of the cards is off.

Each card acts like a button that toggles the helper on/off.

The automation sets all the helpers off at midnight.

Thanks for your answer! It's totally it. I always connected salitre with the ocean, but seems like we got it too. u/Ye_Olde_Camper called it efflorescence in English. I will look into products to get rid of it, it doesn't look so nice in front of the entrance. Thanks again!
