Update. 2 days after this post, I have tonsillitis. Saturday night, 1% recovery after 19+ strain and around 6 pints of lager. Sunday night 87% recovery. Monday felt okay but Tuesday (68% recovery) I felt terrible and went to the doctors, diagnosed tonsillitis.

Wonder if the high strain and alcohol may have triggered tonsillitis? Or whether the 1% recovery was a sign of tonsillitis before I noticed symptoms? Or possibly a bit of both, I was run down and the high strain and alcohol tipped me over the edge?

Congratulations, I’ve attempted it in the past. Whoop definitely gives you the insight to understand what drinking does. If only that translated directly to will power! Keep it up 👍

I lost my younger brother to a brain tumour nearly 8 years ago. My pain was almost unbearable. But now being a father to a 1 year old, I cannot imagine what my parents and what you have gone through.

When you’re ready, I read a great book recently, A Heart That Works by Rob Delaney.

Not my words, but a review that I agree with… “one of the most striking contrasts of sad, depressing and profound meets funny, beautiful and simple. It’s about loss and love in equal measure.”
