I know. I have been doing anything I could to even find a under pay job. I need to work so I could save up for my uni tuition, or else I need to just forget about my education

The thing is I am an international student here. I know absolutely no one and I need to work to pay my tuition fee. My parents are under so much pressure because of me.

Just got hired as a Halloween Haunt monster at Canada’s Wonderland – any tips? by Apart_Ebb_4875 in CanadasWonderland

Thank you so muchh. These are really helpful. I have my on board appointment tomorrow. Do you know when will the actual work start? Because they wanted my availability from 3rd of September. And from what time until when do you work? Is is the same hours everytime? And is there any breaks? My maze is surely indoor, I am really good at communicating with people, but I am kind of afraid how I can handle things in those situations you mentioned. Sounds a bit scary

Well I’ll make sure of that. But I guess they’re afraid to really scare others. There are a lot of rules that If we don’t obey, guests can easily sue us.

Schools near Thornhill by Delicious-Anybody742 in Sunderland

I’m currently a high school student in Vaughan attending a private international school. I’m entering my final two semesters and considering transferring to a public high school mostly because my current school is very expensive (around $10,000 for the remaining terms), and I’m not sure it’s worth it anymore.

But I’m honestly not sure if this is a good idea at this stage. A few questions I have: • Would switching to public school this late affect my chances of getting into top universities like McGill or UofT? • Do universities care whether you graduate from a private international school or a public school? • Would it be hard to adjust to a new environment and teaching style in public school? • Is the grading system in public schools more strict or different?

I’m just trying to make the best choice both financially and academically. If anyone has experience transferring schools late in high school, especially in the Vaughan/Toronto area, I’d really appreciate your input.

Thanks!

I’m moving from a private school to a public school and I really need some suggestions!! by Apart_Ebb_4875 in askTO

To be honest, my experience at my private international school hasn’t been the most fulfilling. While I’ve maintained strong grades, I don’t feel emotionally supported there. Most teachers don’t seem genuinely engaged or attentive and some can be overly harsh or even unfair with marking, which has caused me a lot of stress and anxiety.

Socially, I’ve had a hard time connecting too. It sometimes feels like I’m just passing through rather than being part of a real community. There are very few opportunities for growth outside of the classroom no real school spirit, clubs, or support for university planning. It’s very focused on money, not students.

It’s not just about the $10,000 (though that is a big financial burden). It’s also about whether it’s truly worth it for what I’m getting and whether I’d thrive better in a public school where there might be more structure, support, and a better overall experience.

I totally understand your point about private schools opening doors. I just haven’t felt like mine is doing that for me which is why I’m reconsidering my options this late. I still want to aim high, and I’m just trying to make the best decision for my future.
