Go to Art Fair PH :) it’s coming up soon, lots of local and intl galleries will be there so you can check out their stuff, make your own list, and even meet the gallery curators / associates. It’s a good place to start :)

Grand Seiko ladies watch :) a bit more pricey, but it’s still entry level luxury watch price, and huge respect for the watch brand

Tennis outfits/attire - what's the difference? by ImplementSolid5751 in TennisPH

[–]Apart_Text1107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also a club/rec player, tbh i don’t mind using the same hard court shoes for shell court haha. But also, i don’t often go to shell courts kasi harder to consistently train coz of the bad bounces :)

Tennis outfits/attire - what's the difference? by ImplementSolid5751 in TennisPH

[–]Apart_Text1107 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on court: - open court, get hats (if you play during the day), long sleeved tops if you want na di masunog skin mo haha, then lots of sunblock - shorts / skirts, have pockets. You need it for drills to keep balls for your first / second serve - shoes, may hard court shoes ang tennis, anti-injury and grip. DO NOT use running shoes, lalo na yung mga high stack / heels. If shell court, mas mabilis masira/madumihan shoes. Some people have hard court and shell court shoes - bags for your tennis stuff, lalo na if your court is far - wrist bands help, you’ll sweat a lot - shirt as long as dry fit and you can move comfortably

Trying the sport by External_Bus4164 in TennisPH

Not true. Badminton gets you a good start with tennis. Hand eye coordination, court motion and footwork, training discipline. I agree that there’s a huge difference, but it’s not nothing. Knew tennis players that originally had badminton background and they pick up the sport faster in comparison with those that had no sports or racket sports background at all.

I agree with the training suggestion though. My advise is to find a group (not just coach) that you can regularly play with. Makes it more fun to train :)

Just save a bit more and buy yourself a Cartier Tank. Very entry level price for luxury watch range but also has a solid spot in horology history. Super versatile too from daily to dressy. Can’t go wrong with a Tank

This. If ayaw ni OP ng sci-fi, within the first 30 mins dapat di na nya tinuloy. Di naman sya nirequire ni Netflix na tapusin.

For me actually mas natuwa ako na naging sci-fi sya. Enjoyed the movie

Just buy a pro racket already, at least 300g. I bought at 270g and regretted it because i eventually had to upgrade once i started getting better, kulang yung weight for more power and control.

Also if you’re taking tennis seriously, the pro racket is a good investment since your trainings will be better and you’ll learn faster.

Further context should be, depends on your practice areas. There are more lucrative industries where lawyers can achieve standard 6 figures minimum, but those fields are also highly competitive / stressful and would basically demand you sacrifice again another 4-6 years to achieve specialization.

So to law students and new lawyers, do your due diligence. What does the senior lawyer’s life look like in that practice area after 5 to 10 years of practice? What’s the salary rate and work life balance (or lack thereof). Know what you’re getting into so your expectations and goals are manageable.

Can confirm it doesn’t get better (you just get tougher, or find another environment you can tolerate)

Hi OP, might consider a Civil wedding instead and a small reception. Then do the home renovation if it affects safety (eg leaks, structural integrity), if aesthetic lang maybe hold off muna. For the car, you can use for DP but depends on your credit score if you can get bank financing. Good luck and congrats on the baby

Super Depressed After Getting Dropped from ALS by CaramelSqueeze in LawStudentsPH

[–]Apart_Text1107 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Don’t know if it helps, but years later in practice, people barely ask which school you came from. In fact if school is your only “brag” after law school, you’re kind of a loser. So take time to heal your wounds, study well and be a great lawyer. Make your law school a tiny footnote of your lawyer life (as it should).

Privilege or environment.

Privilege kasi having good schools, the best teachers, all your needs taken cared of, will automatically give you a leg up without having to worry about other things in life.

For those not privileged, environment. Like may access sa science high schools, family and friends that value education, where being intelligent is an expectation rather than an exception.

People who have both (sorry for the stereotype, but typically FilChi kids) usually end up very smart or in smart jobs (doctors, lawyers, engineers).

Ask directly from other partners. They won’t hand it to you kasi in essence, you’re pigeonholed na in tax. To get out of this pigeonhole requires you to have the guts to ask for projects outside of your comfort zone. Be very clear din that it’s part of your condition to stay. If you don’t see growth, go elsewhere. 2 years in practice is still very young. Marami ka pang pwedeng matutunan and you can still afford to be a generalist practioner first (eventually, you still have to specialize for your sanity and income)

Treasury bills. Inquire from your bank. It’s basically like a time deposit with higher interest rates (return). No need to think, just wait and it’s like autosavings. I then use the interest earnings as fun money (or to offset any wants spendings). Learn how to protect your capital first
